POV Hoshimi
I ran, as fast as I possibly could, up to where my mom was. Rina. You idiot. Don't worry about me! I can take care of myself! Don't worry... Tears well in my eyes, they flow down my face and most likely trailing behind me too.
I throw the door open, revealing my mom with her head on Noel's shoulder, crying. "Rina..." I whisper.
The quiet tone of my voice is enough to make her stiffen. She freezes and I hear her sobs stop. Slowly, she turns towards me. "Hoshi... Hoshimi..." she murmurs, running towards me and engulfing me in a tight hug. I wrap my arms back around her.
And, for the first time in years, I say just one word. "Mom."
She starts crying harder as I hold her tighter. "Mom... I love you..."
"Hoshimi..." she manages through tears. "I'm so sorry I never told you... Im so sorry... you deserved to know..."
"You were trying to protect me. Don't you dare be sorry. Don't you dare! I'm fine now because you didn't tell me for all those years." I state.
I feel us both get weak-knees as we collapse to the ground, still both holding onto each other.

POV Sakura
I see Satomi in the hall of school, walking to our next class. Math.
This is it, I think. I have to get those answers for our homework. If I don't do well this week, Mom won't let me go with everyone on the two week trip to the kingdoms we rule next week!
"Satomi-san!" I cheer, grabbing her arm. "Did you finish the math homework?"
She look at me, then turns away. "You can't have my answers."
A frown crosses my face. "Pleeeease Satomi-san! I have to or Mom won't let me go on the trip next week!"
She rolls her eyes. "Go ask Hashimoto-kun. I'm sure he'd let you."
I blush slightly. Kioshi-kun... is... maybe the guy I have a crush on ok?! But he's so great! He's nice and smart and caring... and he's coming over here!
"Hey, Sakura-chan." Kioshi-kun says, walking beside me, his messy red hair making my heart race.
I look at him with a small pink blush. "Oh, hi Kioshi-kun." I smile. Well, now's my chance. "Say, did you finish the math homework?"
He nods. "Yeah, did you forget to?"
I look down as we walk to the classroom. "Yes..." I mutter. God this is so embarrassing!
He nudges my arm with his elbow. "Hey, not to worry. You can look off mine."
Looking up at his red eyes and smiling, I laugh. "Thank you so much, Kioshi-kun!"
"No problem, Sakura-chan." He says.
Now, I trust Kioshi-kun. And i would tell him that I'm a mermaid. But if I do, mom said I'll turn into bubbles! I can't have that, can I? but I can at least tell him I'll be gone for two weeks.
"Uh, Kioshi-kun? There's something I need to tell you." I say shyly.
"Yeah, what is it?" He asks.
"I'm-"
"Kioshi-kuuun!" An all too familiar voice calls. My heart sinks. Kawakami Mayumi. The orange-haired girl clings to Kioshi-kun's arm, knocking me back. She glares at me with orange eyes before turning back to Kioshi-kun with a smile.
