POV Masumi

"They've beaten me again!" I yell, sitting on my throne. The glass in my hand shatters as my anger boils. "I was going to make a deal with them... I was going to let those girls be on their way if they agreed to stay out of my way... But now I see these girls cannot be reasoned with."

My gaze falls on the boy kneeling by my side. "Tadashi."

He bows his head, his indigo hair swaying in the water. "Yes, Masumi-sama."

I feel my lips curl into a slight smile. It happens to me every time my closest servant says my name. "Tadashi... As of today, we are at war with those Mermaid Princesses." I state. "If you ever see those girls again... You are to take their Pearls. Without them they are powerless."

Tadashi nods. "Understood."

"And if you cannot take their Pearls..." I continue with an expressionless face. "Eliminate them."

His dark eyes widen and he looks up at me. "But Masumi-sama I-!"

"Now now, Tadashi." I interrupt him "I'm a reasonable person, aren't i? I know there's no way you could possibly take out seven Mermaid Princesses by yourself. So... I've gotten some help."

My smirk grows as five figures walk out from behind my throne. I hear one of them laugh childishly, and two others say...

"It's show time."

POV Ruri

We said goodbye to everybody in the North Pacific kingdom the morning after Sakura's coming of age ceremony. I loved the kingdom, too bad we have to go so soon. Next we'll be in the South Pacific, Coco and Satomi's kingdom.

The sea world has been so beautiful, and I've had great experiences already. I think. Out of nowhere, the image of the boy I saw before flashes in my head. I don't know why, but I blush dark red. What am I thinking? I don't even know him!

Something catches my eye a few minutes after we leave the kingdom. I turn as see Celest, the aqua-colored fish I met on the way to Sakura's kingdom.

I absentmindedly swim over to her, forgetting about the group. "Celest-chan!"

Celest turns to me. "Ruri-chan! It's good to see you again." She smiles.

"You too!" I say. "Hm, I wonder if I can still see some of the sunrise..."

Celest swims up I bit. "You can. It's almost over though, you'd better hurry."

"Thank you Celest-chan!" I exclaim before swimming to the surface. I look over to the sun, seeing the beautiful hues of the sky. I've never seen a sunrise so beautiful on land, it's amazing.

I hear a gasp from behind me and turn around in shock. My face heats up when I see who it was.

The boy I saw on the way here, still on the small boat. He stares out at me and I look right back. Something inside me tells me not to run- er, swim- and I stay there, just holding my gaze.

"It's you again..." He trails off. "You've got to need some help."

I shake my head, realizing what I'm doing. I dive back into the water quickly, my face bright red. How could I have let this happen again?

My attention is brought back to his direction when I hear a splash. I turn to see that he jumped in after me. My head spins as I wonder what I should do. I can't turn into a human, but I couldn't swim away before he saw me.

He looks at me and his eyes widen in shock. There's no way he'll be thinking straight after seeing a mermaid. I start to swim away, but something tells me not to. I look behind me and see the boy... drowning?!
