4 - Ahead

We've already lost 3 people. Amy, Jim, and now Jacqui. God will this nightmare end. We're going to Fort Benning, 125 miles away, I'm not ready but I'm forced to be.

"Well, Carl you excited for the road trip?" I ask him, grinning.

"As excited as I can be." He's been gloomy since the C.D.C since Jacqui.. Saved herself.

"Cheer up Carl, we're gonna have lots of fun and it'll be very safe at Fort Benning." I smile.

"I guess you're right." Carl sighs.

"I remember our trip to the grand canyon with Carl." Lori says. Rick just laughs.

"I don't remember that.." Carl says.

"No, you wouldn't you were just a baby."

"Imagine going to the coolest place in the world and not remembering it." I laugh. "Just teasing."

"We never even made it past Fort Worth." Lori sighs.

"No, you got sick, I never knew a baby could throw up so much." I laugh.

"Ick."

"Ew!" I exclaim.

"Yeah." Lori agrees. "The Doctor in Texas said you'd live Then we turned around and drove home."

"Well that sucks." Carl says.

"Worst trip ever." I add.

"No, actually it was a good trip." Lori smiles.

"The best." Rick corrects her.

"Can we go see it?" Carl and I ask. "We'd like too."

"I would too." Sophia adds. "Can we go?"

"We'd never go without you and your Mom." Rick says. "Or Joseph. That's a promise."

"So.. Carl, why the Grand Canyon? I definitely would've chosen tokyo japan." I jerk forward at the sudden stop. Why'd the RV stop? Once we start going again I realize there was a bunch of cars blocking the way. "This is SUPER risky."

The RV broke down and we come to a sudden stop, I quickly scurry out and walk with Carl.

I look through a car and find a bunch of dinosaur toys that I take and put in a shoulder bag I found, there was also a flashlight and batteries I put in my shoulder bag, attaching my new flashlight to my belt. I grin and find a suitcase full of boys clothes I took and put in the back of the car. I ran around looking for more stuff when I saw the walkers, I held in my screech and ran and hid under a car. I was across from Carl and stared at him nervously, waiting for the herd to pass. It took forever but it was finally over, I silently but surely crawled out from under the car, dusting my clothes off and picking up my shoulder bag. I watched as Sophia ran into the forest from two walkers. Hoping she's safe, I hug Carol gently.

"It'll be okay, guys, Sophia will be okay." I try reassuring the group.

"My baby.." Carol cries.

Rick came back with news that Sophia wasn't where she was told to hide so Daryl, Glenn, and T-Dog helped.

I helped Carl and Lori collect stuff we need grabbing food, water, medicine, whatever.

"Hey, Carl, you find anything cool yet? Like toys?" Carl shakes.

"Why did you?" He asks.

"Uh, yeah! I found a bunch of Dinosaur toyss!!!" I prance around bringing food back.

"Hey I found something in here." Carl pulls open a truck with a dead guy in it, and reaches to the far pocket, he gets up closer and starts tugging, it comes loose and he freaks out, falling over. I clap and chase him back to Shane.
