I sigh with Carl as we walk back to the farm solemnly, my hand still on his shoulder with a weak attempting to be encouraging smile. The walk was silent and the silence was loud.

"You bit too?" Carl asked, the naivety was embarrassing.

"No." Rick responded.

"Shane was." Carl mumbles. I sigh with an eye roll not feeling ready to speak.

"You know that wasn't Shane." Rick says gloomily.

"Used to be." Carl says. "What happened? You guys attacked? I mean I... I heard a gunshot."

"Randall was nowhere to be found, Carl. Who would've attacked and there were no walkers around to shoot." I grumble.

"How did Shane die." Carl asks firmly? Frustrated?

Rick breathes heavily for a moment. Walkers growl and we turn and look to see the herd behind us.

"Oh my god.. Go go go go go go go go go." Rick says. We begin running fast. I gently grip Carl's hand so he can run faster. We duck down behind a tree.

"W.. We gotta get to the house." Carl says frantically. "Tell the others."

"Carl, we can't get to the house." I respond a little bit nervous looking around.

"We'll never get through that." Rick adds on to my sentence. "Can't go around, guys, stay close. Go!" We begin running for the barn. Dodging zombies and speeding ahead in fear.

"Oh god.." I whisper as we run inside the barn and Rick shuts the door behind us. we hold it closed as he locks it with a wood stick through the handles. "What do we do?"

"I don't know, Joseph, but we have to warn the others." Carl says as Rick picks up a gasoline can and begins pouring it everywhere.

"Ohhh... I get it." Carl and I help him pour gasoline everywhere getting ready to light the barn up.

"Alright, okay. Up there, hurry." He points to a ladder and I quickly climb it.

"Wwwwhat about you!?" Carl asks.

"I'll be right there. Drop the lighter when I say." Rick says. "We'll stop some of them from reaching the house, and distract the others so at least we'll have a chance. Look at me, you can do this." He reassures Carl and Carl nods frantically. "Carl.. I love you." Carl nods again. "Aright go, go, go." Carl runs up the ladder speedily. Rick begins violently kicking the door and screaming before releasing the stick and opening the door. He leads them in and climbs the ladder. "CARL NOW."

Carl lights the lighter and drops it, setting the barn and all the walkers on fire. I frantically look for an escape. Carl joins me in looking, Rick darts his eyes around barely helping. We back up in front of the large window thing and hesitate jumping.  The RV pulls up.

"HEY! HERE!" Rick shouts at the RV. "PUT IT RIGHT THERE! COME ON!" He directs them.

We quickly jump on the roof of the RV, Jimmy screaming from inside the RV we quickly climb down shooting out the walkers, then helping Carl down. Blood splatters the windshields and Rick leads me and Carl away. We quickly run around the barn and into the woods as fast as we can. Not stopping or looking back for anything. Running, like when I first learnt about the walkers, I trip over my feet and Carl helping me back up, we catch back up to Rick, I hobble the lightest bit but there's no pain. Once I'm back to normal I pull Carl ahead, we ran back around to help a surrounded Hershel, Rick shoots one behind Hershel and he turns around.

"Where's Lori? Have you seen Lori?" Rick asks.

"Is she safe?" I add.

"I don't know what happened Rick, they just keep coming." Hershel replies.
