"We're not leaving." Rick says.

"We can't stay here." Hershel replies.

"What if there's another sniper? A wood pallet won't stop one of those rounds." Maggie states.

"We can't even go outside!" Beth says.

"Not in the daylight." Carol adds.

"Rick says we're not running, we're not running." Glenn says, I sigh and roll my eyes.

"So we're hiding?" I ask. "Like deer in the headlights."

"Yes, and it will stay that way until the coast is clear." Rick says.

"yeah, no, it's better to.. live like rat!" Merle butts in. I flip him off.

"You got a better idea?" Rick asks?

"Yeah we shoul-" Merle starts.

"Shut up, prisoner." I spit at him.

"Look, he's probably got scouts set up on every road around here now, we ain't escaping anymore." Merle says.

"We ain't scared of that prick." Daryl says.

"I'll kill him." I say.

"Y'all should be scared." Merle says. "That truck through the fence thing. That's just him ringing the doorbell. We may have the thick walls, but he's got the guns and the numbers, and if he takes the high ground around this place, he could just starve us out if he wanted too."

Everyone begins arguing. I'm getting tired of it.

"It doesn't matter who's fault it is, what do we do?" Beth asks.

"I say we should leave still." Hershel insists. "Now Axel's dead. We CAN'T just sit here." Rick begins walking away. "GET BACK HERE!" Hershel shouts, I flinch back. Rick stops. "You're slipping, Rick. We've all seen it, we understand why. But NOW is not the time. You once said this isn't a democracy. Now you have to own up to that! I put my family's life in your hands. So get your head clear and do something." Rick walks off to go do something.

I sit down with a sigh. Then I get up and follow Carl as he walks out.

"You two shouldn't be out here." Rick says.

"I'm a good shot." Carl says.

"Yes you are." Rick replies.

"I have really good observation skills." I state.

"That's true too."

"So we're staying out here to help." I say again. Watching the direction we're all facing.

"Hey Dad?" Carl asks.

"Yeah?"

"If I say something will you promise not to be mad at me?"

"I won't get mad."

"You should stop." I blink, confused.

"Stop what?" My thoughts exactly, Rick.

"Being the leader." Carl adds.

Rick looks at him.

"Let Hershel and Daryl handle things." Carl clarifies. "You deserve a rest."

"I... reluctantly agree, Rick. You don't need to carry all this pressure, your family can help too." I smile.

Me and Carl walk away as he puts back on his hat.

"Damn, that was smooth Carl." I grin.

"I'm good like that, yeah?" He laughs.

"Well, I guess you can be smooth, C." I soften my smile.

"But you need to stop something too." I sigh.
