Chapter 8

We grabbed the guns and walked down the hallway to try and find the exit. Every time we pass someone Gale shoots them into the leg with a stunning bullet. As we walk down the dark hallways we found the exit. I hug Peeta. I thought I lost him. I turn around to find Gale looking at me.

"Hi," I say

"Hi," he says back. Then suddenly, I feel his arms around mine. I forgot how comforting this was. His arms around my body was more comforting than Peeta's arms. I almost forgot that we have been attacked. I pull away.

"We should go, we don't know where we are, even how long we have been here," I say.

"You're right," Gale answers.

We walk out and find that we are still in district 12, but underground. I hate being underground.

"We're in district 12, we should go home to check our kids," says Peeta. "We should," I answer. So we make our way home.

I knock on the polished birch wood of our front door. "Prim! Rue! Haymitch!" I yell. No answer. "Answer me!"

I try open the door, it is unlocked. "What," I mutter to myself. I open it with a squeak. "Haymitch!?" Peeta yells. I walk into the kitchen to find Haymitch laying drunk on the floor, his nose bleeding.

"Haymitch!" I say as I slap him in the face. As soon as I do that Haymitch stands up screaming. "GET AWAY FROM ME YOU.." Haymitch sees us and immediately calms down. "Where is Rue? Where is Prim?" I ask him. He winces. "They took them, I tried to fight them off, but as you could see this happened."

We look at each other, then instantly we run back to the place we were earlier.
