Katniss's POV
I sit down on the couch wiping the annoying tears streaming down my cheeks. Why can't I just forget? I pick up my cup full of water and take a sip. I'm not sure I will be happy ever again. But I have to, for Prim and Rue. My thoughts are interrupted by Gale bursting in the room.
"Katniss, I got information," He announced. I look at him in confusion. "Information?" I ask.
"About the men that killed... Well... You know who I'm talking about," he says. I feel a lump forming in my throat, but I ignore it. "How did you find it?" I ask again. Gales face saddens, like something bad has happened.
"Johanna's adopted daughter, her name was Siena, she ran to district twelve when her mother died, to tell us the information," he says. Johanna adopted someone? Johanna died!? I shake my head. "Johanna died!?" I exclaim.
"Apparently," Gale says. I feel more tears form, but I don't let them out. Me and Johanna were never exactly friends, but she meant a lot to me too. I try to change the topic. "What about the girl? Is she here?" I ask. Gale looks down on the floor in pain. Something bad has definitely happened. "No she isn't, she...I couldn't save her Katniss! She deserved better," Gale says angrily. He struggles to meet my eyes. "She died?" I ask more gently.
"Yes," Gale whispers. I feel pity for the girl, she must have been young. I stand up and put my hand on his shoulder in a calming gesture. "What information did she tell you?" I ask. His grey eyes meet mine. He swallows a lump in his throat and begins.
"They are going to stop, for now, to give us hope, then they are going to attack, and really badly," he says. I let that process in my mind. Two people died to give us this information, we have to use it wisely. "Then we will be ready,"
