I wake up to find myself on the side of the bed, Peeta's arms not around me. I easily stand up and quietly creep to the living room in search for Gale. I pass my children's room and pass the bathroom then enter the empty living room. I walk towards the couch Gale was supposed to be sleeping in, to find that he is gone. Maybe he is out hunting? I think. But he's not. I notice a small piece of ripped paper laying on the coffee table. I pick it up and begin to read.
Halfway past I put the note in my pocket and put on some shoes and a jacket and run straight to the woods. I run, the wind blowing into my hair, the adrenalin rushing. I make it to the woods and I run past it to the station. I feel my energy running out, so I decide to stop for a little bit. I could be too late I think, he could already be gone. But that thought is proved wrong quickly.
"Katniss!?" Gale shouts from above me. I look up the large tangle of trees to find Gale sitting on a branch. "Gale!" I shout back in hope. He carefully jumps down the trees to met me. "What are you doing here?" He asks.
"I don't want you to leave," I say. Gales face turns confused. "Why..."
"I just don't want you to leave!" I interrupt. He looks into my eyes to see if I'm telling the truth. "You don't?" He says. "I... I need you Gale," I manage to say. He doesn't say a word after that. Before I can stop myself I pull my self to him and press my lips to his. He kissed me back but hesitantly. Our bodies were placed together perfectly, like we were made for each other. Gale slowly pulled away slowly.
"What about Peeta?" Gale asks me. I can feel anxiety rising up. "Peeta, he means a lot to me too," I say slowly. I feel confusion over come me. I love Peeta, he is my husband, but I think I am starting fall for Gale too, what do I do? There can only be one. "Katniss, I don't want to ruin your relationship with Peeta," he says.
"You are not going to do that, but you're not going to leave me either," I say.
