I felt the wind blow through my hair as I ran through the fields, it's always felt peaceful to me. I ran to the edge of the woods and headed to my makeshift shack. It was pretty cozy I had a little table with a stool next to it and my sketchbook on top.

"Roxanna! Roxanna!" I heard someone yelling. I walked out to see my friend Alice. "Hey, Alice! I'm in here!" She walked in and sat next to me. "Hey, your parents wanted me to tell you we have to go soon for testing." Right testing is today the day where a test predicts where we might have to belong for the rest of our life. "Oh yeah. How are you feeling about it?" I personally didn't know how to feel. "I'm honestly pretty scared. What about you?" Honestly, I didn't know how to feel. I felt nervous, terrified, and kind of excited. "Uh ya, I'm pretty nervous too."

We then headed to my house to say goodbye to my parents. I walked in and saw my mom standing at the kitchen counter chopping carrots. "Hey, Mom," I said walking over to her. "Hey, sweetie." She had stopped cutting and turned towards me. "I came to say bye to you and Dad before Alice and I go to the city for testing." I saw her bright smile dim as soon as I said that. "You ok mom?" I had never seen her smile dim before she was the brightest person you can know. "Yeah, I'm ok I just can't believe you're going for testing it felt like you were just born yesterday." I felt tears welling up in my eyes. "Oh, mom." I gave her a big hug. We stayed there for a minute. "Roxanna there you are." I heard a voice say from behind me. I turned around and saw my dad standing in the doorway. "Hey, Dad," I said wiping some of the tears from my eyes. "Hey, you okay?" I laughed a little. "Ya, I'm ok." After a few minutes of talking to my parents, Alice came in. "Hey, Roxanna we have to go the train is here." I looked at my parents and kissed them both on the cheek goodbye. "Bye, Mom bye Dad see you later."

We ran to the train and headed for the city. Alice mostly talked to some of the other kids from our faction while I just looked out the window thinking about what faction I would get. After a while, we finally arrived and headed to the city hall. As we were waiting in line I overheard a guy loudly talking to an Abnegation boy, and of course, the guy talking loudly was from Erudite. He kept yelling at them until we had to go in. As we entered we walked through the yellow light halls until we came to individual doors.

I entered a mirror-covered room and saw a girl dressed in black with a tattoo preparing for the test. "Hey, I'm Tori. I'll be administrating your test. You'll be offered a series of choices to test your aptitude for each faction until you get one result. I wouldn't sweat it. 95% get the faction of their origin." I head over to the chair next to her and she hands me a glass with blue liquid in it. "What is this?" She just looked at me and said, "Bottoms up." I downed the drink and passed it back to her. I then passed out. The next thing I knew I opened my eyes to see I was in the same room but I was empty. I got up and walked around. "Choose." A voice suddenly echoed. Two stands appeared in front of me one with a knife and one with raw meat. "Huh?" I was really confused. "Now. Before it's too late." I quickly turned to grab one of the things but they disappeared. "Oh no." I heard growling coming from behind me. I turned again to see a big German Sheppard growling at me. I stood still for a minute. It started running at me causing me to run, but I tripped and fell. "This isn't real. This isn't real." I kept repeating to myself. The next thing I knew the dog turned into a cute little puppy. "Puppy!" A little girl excitedly yelled. I looked at her she looked like a younger version of Alice. She always loved animals. The puppy then turned back into an angry dog again and started chasing little Alice. "NO!" As it ran past me I chased after it and tackled it to the ground. The next thing I knew I woke up back in the room with Tori shaking me awake. "Get up. We're going out the back door before a supervisor comes." I was freaking out. "Wait what?! Why? What were my results?" She grabbed me by the arm and pulled me towards the back door. "You're going to tell your family that the serum made you sick and that I sent you home. All right?" I was really scared that she was not telling me what my results were. "Amity. And Abnegation. And Dauntless. Your results were inconclusive." My eyes widened at the news. "What?! How?! That's impossible!" I was now outside the door. "No. Not impossible. It's just extremely rare. They call it 'Divergent'. You can't tell anyone about this. Not even your parents. As far as the world is concerned, you received an Amity result because that is what I manually entered." I was speechless. Divergent? I left the city hall and headed for the train back to Amity.
