I felt the air rush past me as I fell it almost felt like I had been falling for an hour. I finally landed on a net that bounced me back into the air. I chuckled to myself as I landed. I laid there for a minute until someone pulled on the net causing me to roll over towards the person. He helped me out of the net and was really hot. I couldn't help but look at him for a minute. "What did you get pushed?" He asked me. His question pulled me back to reality. "Uhh no I didn't." It was kind of weird how flustered I was because I never really felt this way before. "What's your name?" I wanted to say Roxanna but it didn't feel right to me. "You can pick a new name but make it good. You don't get to pick again." I took another minute to think. "It's Roxy." He gave me a nod and turned to the other. "First jumper, Roxy." Everyone started clapping for me. "Welcome to Dauntless." He said looking at me. I was led off to the side by another Dauntless member as other initiates fell down.

Once everyone was down the hot guy stood in front of all of us. I decided to stand next to Christina and Beatrice who had changed her name to Tris. "Dauntless born go with Lauren. Transfers stay with me." He said. No one moved for a moment. "Go." Then all of them left. I focused my attention back on the guy. "Most of the time I work in intelligence but during your training I'll be your instructor. My name is Four." I heard Christina next to me scoff at his name. "Four like the number?" He shot his eyes at her. "Exactly like the number." He seemed a little annoyed at the question which made sense. "What happened, one through three were taken?" I nudged her to knock it off but she just ignored me. He smiled slightly and came towards her. "What's your name?" This was not going to be good. "Christina." He was looking down on her to intimidate her was working well. "Well...Christina, the first lesson you learn from me, if you wanna survive here is keep your mouth shut. Do you understand me?" Oh my god, I was honestly kind of scared and he wasn't even looking at me. Four walked back to where he was before in front of everyone. "Follow me."

We walked around for a bit going through many halls and rooms. As we were walking I noticed a tattoo poking out on the back of four's neck. We eventually arrived at a giant room where people were hanging out, partying, and some were even fighting. "This is the pit. The center of life here at Dauntless." This was nothing like amity, which I liked. When I was in Amity we usually spent our day working in the fields but here you got to have a lot of fun and freedom. He then took us to the dorms. "You're going to be sleeping here for the next 10 weeks." Four said as we headed down a flight of stairs. "Boys or girls?" A guy named Al asked. "Both." Four responded not looking at him. Many of the other initiates were freaked out by this. Guess they've never been to Amity the place where you ever get time to yourself. "If you like this then you're going to love the bathrooms." Four said jokingly. "You should feel right at home, Candor. Everything out in the open." He joked again. "Get changed." He demanded as he walked out of the room. "Right, shower anyone?" The annoying erudite boy said.

We all chose our beds I chose one next to Christina and Tris'. We started to change into the Dauntless clothes that were left out for us. "Nice legs softie and stiff." Said the annoying guy who I found out was named Peter. When he said that I turned and flipped him off. "Woah that's not very Amity-like." I just ignored him and continued to change. Once we finished they had us burn the clothes we originally had. After we burned the clothes I headed to the cafeteria. I looked around the room and saw a space between Tris and Four. When I sat down Four gave a little glance at me while Tris and the others turned to let me join in on their conversation. Everyone started grabbing food from the center. Tris just stared at hers for a second. "Have you never seen a hamburger before?" Christina said looking at her. "No I've seen one. I just have never eaten one." I could tell she was uncomfortable. "Abnegation eat plain food.  Plant-based diet with no sauces and a minimum of seasoning." A guy across from us said. "What textbook did you swallow?" Christina said jokingly which made everyone at the table laugh. "Nice to meet you, too. I'm Will. Erudite." He said introducing himself. "Of course you are. No offense, but I'm surprised Abnegation even eats at all. Too selfish, right? No wonder you left." Tris and the other smiled at that. "You gotta be pretty self-confident to be friends with a Candor." I noticed Christina give an offended face. "What's that supposed to mean?" She responded sassily. "You have no filter. You say the first thing that comes into your head." Will rebutted. "You mean like 'You're an idiot?'" Al joked. "Nice one Al. At least we tell the truth." Everyone chuckled at that. "Erudite can tell the truth because we have the facts." Suddenly Four joined the conversation. "I don't want to hear about your old factions. You're Dauntless now." Boy was he frustrated. "Were you a transfer, too? Or Dauntless born?" Tris asked him. "Are you kidding?" He responded. This was not going to be good. "No." What are you up to Tris. "What makes you think you can talk to me?" I honestly was not surprised by this answer. "It... must be because you're so approachable." I scoffed at her response and Four did too. "I heard him mumble under his breath, "Careful."
