The Fence

Today for our training we were headed to The Fence I was honestly a little excited especially since I know have an excuse to go see my parents and Alice. We were all at the top standing in front of Four who was giving instructions. "As Dauntless, we fight to protect every life inside the fence, without fail. That's why we train you the way we do. To teach you not to give up. And to find out who has what it takes. Even though it's been quiet out there for years, that could change at any moment. So we have to be ready for everything." I was looking out into the distance when Tris came up next to me. "What's out there?" I shrugged my shoulders I never really thought about it. "Monsters." Christina said jokingly. "Amity farms." Well no duh. "No, I know. But beyond that?" I didn't really feel like talking to any one else so I snuck away and headed for my makeshift shake.

For me being away for a few weeks it was in pretty good condition. I walked in to surprisingly see Alice sitting on the stool at the table. "Roxanna?" She said surprised. "Alice!" I ran up and hugged her. "Wha-wha-what are you doing here?" I was kind of funny seeing her so surprised. "I'm supposed to be training at The Fence right now but I just needed to get away. What are you doing here?" She chuckled. "Same as you I just needed to get away for a minute." We hugged again. "Oh it's so good to see you! How's life in Dauntless?" Boy what should I tell her about first. Christina almost getting killed. Finding my instructor was best friends with my brother or that he may be Factionless, or even dead? "There is so much I need to tell you about." We started talking for a little when I heard something from outside. "Roxy! Roxy! It's Four we're leaving back to the city!" Oh man. "Man! Sorry Alice I have to go." We both frowned. "Well maybe we'll see each other again soon." It honestly kind of sucked not being in the same faction as Alice anymore. Ever since Ethan left Alice and I would always hang out even when we were supposed to be doing out chores. We walked out of the shack I hugged her goodbye and went to go find Four. "Hey I'm over here!" I saw him walking around the edge of the woods. "Hey there you are. Where've you been?" He said a little annoyed. "Sorry I just needed to step away from everyone for a bit." When we were about to leave I heard a voice from behind me. "Roxanna wait!" It was Alice. She came sprinting up to me. "Wait I almost forgot to give this to you!" She said panting. It was bracelet that had an R and an A. "Aww this is so cute. Thanks Alice." I gave her a quick hug. "Uhh Roxanna mind introducing me to your friend here?" She said over my shoulder. "Oh ya sorry Alice this is my instructor Four. Four this is my best friend Alice." Four nodded to Alice. "Nice to meet you." Alice then whispered to me. "Oh my god you were right your instructor is hot." I gave her a 'are you kidding he's right there' look. "Ok Four and I should really get going. Bye Alice love you girl I'll try and see you again soon." We hugged again and then Four and I were off.

We were walking back to the train when Four asked me, "So you think I'm hot?" My eyes widened at this. "Y-y-you heard that?" I said nervously. "Ya I did." I really need to talk to Alice about her whispering skills. My face was probably tomato red. He laughed. We finally made it back to the train. We both ran and hoped on with everyone back to the city.
