When I got home I went straight to bed and just wanted to this day to be over. I had to have been lying there for about an hour when I heard a knock on the door. I flipped over and saw my mom standing at my door. "Hey you're home early." I gave her a weak smile. "Ya, I just finished it early so I think I'm just going to rest for the rest of the day." She gave me a smile. "All right Sweat Heart. Good night see you in the morning." I gave her a little nod.

The Next Day

I got up extra early today and decided to go watch the sunrise. It's probably another favorite thing of mine to do. It's always so beautiful seeing the colors blend together. I sat there for hours until it's time for breakfast. When I arrived at breakfast I got my breakfast and headed to the table my family and I usually sit at. "Hey there you are! I was wondering where you went." My mom said walking up to me. "Ya I just wanted to get an early start especially because of the ceremony later today." We sat down at the table my mom next to my dad and me across from them. "How are you feeling about it anyways?" I just looked down at my food. "I'm really nervous actually." I felt my mom reach for my hand. "Oh sweet heart you're going to be find your father and I will be proud no matter what you choose." I looked up and smiled at her.

A few hours have past and we finally arrived in the city. We walked through the city hall into a giant auditorium each part having the five factions. My parents and I headed to the Amity section and sat waiting for it to start. A woman with blonde hair dressed in blue walked up to the stage. "Hello everyone, as some of you may know I am Jeanine and I want you to choose who you truly are and where you truly belong. Not on a whim. Not because you with you were someone you're not. but because you honestly know yourself. I want you to choose wisely. And I know you will. The faction system is a living being composed of cells, all of you. And the only way it can survive and thrive is for each of you to claim your rightful place. The future belongs to those who know where they belong." Then Marcus the head of the Abnegation faction and government walked to the stage. "When we leave this room, you will no longer be dependents but full-fledged members of our society. Faction before blood." Everyone repeated the phrase. It's a little weird though because I know we are leaving our families behind but with out them we wouldn't even be here. I was sitting in between my parents and both had grabbed and squeezed my hands. "Jonathan Ziegler." Marcus called to be the first person to choose. He was from Erudite he picked up the dagger and cut his hand. He then put his hand over the bowl and let a drop of blood fall in. "Erudite." Everyone in that faction clapped and yelled. It proceeded on until it was finally my turn. "Roxanna Frazier." I felt goosebumps on my arms. "You got this." My dad whispered to me. I walk up to the table and grabbed the dagger. I hesitated for a moment before cutting my hand. What do I choose my mind kept saying I should stay in Amity with my parents but my heart kept saying Dauntless where I could be free and be adventurous. I finally decided to go with my heart and chose Dauntless. I heard my blood sizzle when it hit the hot coals as I turned around to see my parents. I could see my mom tear up but she gave me a smile. I walked over to the Dauntless area and shock a few peoples hands.

Once the ceremony was finally over I took one last glance at my parents before heading off with my new family. As we exited city hall we started running in the streets. It was exhilarating feeling the wind in my hair and running past the buildings. We got to these yellow poles and everyone started climbing up them which I did as well. It came to a train track and after a minute everyone started running. A train came chugging past us as we ran I saw everyone starting to jump on. Carts kept passing me so I ran as fast as I could and jumped on. I flung myself to the wall next to a girl in all white. "Hey you ok?" The girl asked me. "Ya just a little tired from that jump. I'm Roxanna by the way." I put my hand out to shack her hand. "I'm Christina." I gave her a little smile. "Hey I'm Beatrice." A girl on the other side of Christina said. "Hey it's nice to meet you both." They both gave me a smile. "You're from Amity right this must be a giant change for you." I sighed. "Ya but it's a big change for all of us isn't it?" A man farther up the cart yelled down. "We're jumping in 3..2..1." Then he opened the door and jumped out onto a building everyone followed. "Are they trying to kill us?" Christina asked. "Maybe or this is just how they go?" The three of us walked to the side across from the door. Beatrice looked me and Christina. "Jump on three." I gave her a nod. "Alright 1..2..3!" We ran and jumped from the train just like the others did. We had a little bit of a rough landing but we were fine. We all laugh at our ok landing when a man stood in front of the group. "All right, listen up! I'm Eric. I'm one of your leaders. If you want to enter Dauntless, this is the way in. And if you don't have the guts to jump, then you don't belong in Dauntless." A guy from Erudite interrupted him. "Is there water at the bottom or something?" You could see Eric didn't like being interrupted. "I guess you'll find out. Or not." Christina whispered to us. "We just jumped. They want us to jump again?" I just shrugged my shoulders at her. "I guess so." We focused back to Eric. "Someone's gotta go first. Who's it gonna be?" There was a long pause. I finally build off the courage. "Me." I say everyone turned toward me. I slowly walked up to the front. I started to take my vest off when someone said, "Yeah, softie, take it off....put it back on." I just ignored him and climbed on the ledge of the building. "Any day Initiate." Eric said impatiently. A took a few deep breaths and then jumped.
