A New Adventure

Chapter 5

The sun rises and Corey is already outside with her team. Shinx is all cuddled with Corey while Quilava and Buizel spar with each other. Sipping a cup of hot tea she breathes in the cool air

"Mind if I join you Corey?" Mike says walking up behind her

"Of course bud" Corey says scooting over to allow room on the blanket

Mike opens his pokeballs to let out Gibble and Larvitar to run around

"Nice morning isn't it?" Corey says admiring the surroundings

"It's so peaceful, it's nice to share nice views with special people" Mike says nudging her

"Is this about Boots?" She asks looking over at Mike

"Perhaps, I do wanna ask; are you ready to take that step? I know in your past it wasn't easy" Mike questions popping open a water bottle

"I'm not sure yet... I wasn't thinking about a relationship but Boots makes me feel comfortable" Corey says looking at her Shinx who had fallen asleep on her lap

"Well, the opportunity is there, it's your choice to take it or draw it out" Mike says after taking a sip of water

"Right..." she mumbled then gently petting her Shinx

"Y'all will be a great team but remember Sean and I have your back" Mike smiles

Before the two could continue, Larvitar takes off running towards the near by pond

"Larv!" Mike says jumping up to dash after his Pokémon

The sudden jolt of energy wakes up Shinx and it sparks Corey   "YEEW! Oh ouchie"

Shinx looks up in shame but Corey reassures her not to worry. Corey picks up Shinx and calls for the rest of her team to follow Mike

As Corey and her team catch up to Mike and his aggressive Larvitar

Mike comes across a herd of froakie

"The base stage of Greninja!" Mike says excitedly "Go get Sean, he's been wanting a Greninja for ages"

Corey bolts back to the rooms

"Sean! Sean! Uppie! Now!" Corey yells shaking him awake

"Five more minutes" Sean's groans putting a pillow over his face

"Nope!" Corey says as she grabs his comforter and yanks

Sean curls up into ball whining "Coreyyyy"

"Mike found a herd of Froakie" Corey says holding a cup of water over his head

"FROAKIE!?" Sean bursts sitting up super fast, knocking the cup of water out of Corey's hand and soaking Sean and the bed in water

"Oh.... Skrelp... You made me wet the bed!" Sean's whines

"Go get the Froakie ya goof, I'll clean it up" Corey says laughing and helping Sean out of bed

Sean grabs his pokeballs and his team and bolts out the door faster than a speeding Latias

Stumbling outside, still in his pajamas, Sean catches up to Mike who's battling one of the Froakie

"I'm here! I'm here!" Sean says throwing out Joltik

"Jolt, use electro web!" Sean calls out

Joltik sends out a large electro web to trap a Froakie

"Larvitar, boost your attack with payback!" Mike says

Larvitar charges up and prepares to attack the targeted Froakie

While Sean's Froakie is trapped in an electro web, Mike's Froakie lunges at Larvitar with a quick attack

Larvitar stumbles back, then lunges at the Froakie taking a bite

The Froakie that was trapped in the electro web escape however, both Froakie's are stunned by the strong attacks

"Go pokeball!" Both Mike and Sean call out. The boys hurl pokeballs at the stunned Froakie

Both pokeballs roxk back and forth then clicks. The boys have successfully captured Froakie's

"Yes! We caught Froakie's!" Sean cheers hugging his Joltik

"Atta boy Larvi" Mike says petting his Larvitar

By the time the boys return to the blanket area, Corey and Boots are talking and laughing while their Pokémon run around

"Love Pidoves" Sean says nudging Mike

"Don't be so certain, she may not be ready" Mike says

The two boys let their Pokémon out to play and the new Froakie's bounce around meeting the rest of the group

"Nicely done boys!" Corey says smiling

"Thanks Corey! I'm glad I got a strong water type, Greninja will dominate!" Sean says holding up a fist

Corey and Boots have a chuckle at his dramatic performance

"Y'all wanna go to a restaurant for breakfast or y'all wanna cook?" Corey asks

"Food!?" Sean exclaims with a smile

"Hehehe yes Sean, food" Corey giggles

"We can go get some food from the local restaurant" Mike says

"Sounds good! Team let's go get some grub!" Sean hollers to his team

The other team members call for their Pokémon and they all come running

The team recalls their Pokémon into their pokeballs and head over to the restaurant, The Champion Cafe

After a delicious, Meowscular Chef worthy meal, the team set off to the neighboring town. Home of the first gym, grass type

"I'm just sayin, Charmander and I are gunna sweep the gym leaders team" Sean says holding his Charmander's pokeball

"All three of you have fire type starters, you guys will do great" Mike says opening another bottle of water

"That's true, however we shouldn't underestimate our opponents" Corey says glancing at Boots

"Corey's right, it may be a type advantage but they could have more experience and effective tactics for countering fire types and its other weaknesses" Boots informs

The team carries on with confidence however, none of the members notice the shadowy figure trailing behind them in the bushes and shadows
