A New Adventure

Chapter 7

"Quill! Let's start this off with flamethrower!" Corey yells

Cyndaquil fires a blast of fire at the Scizor, causing it to wince in pain trying to block the flames with its claws

"Piplup, hit 'em with water gun!" Dusk shouts

Piplups water gun was aimed at Cyndaquil but before it could reach her, Shinx sends out a thunder shock. Temporarily paralyzing the Piplup

"Seviper, grab that Shinx!" Shouts Joey

Seviper wraps itself around Shinx squeezing him tightly, increasing strength as Shinx exhales

"Charmander, use Fire Fang to free Shinx!" Sean calls out

Charmander launches at Seviper and clamps down on its body, flames spewing from his fangs, burning through Seviper grip. Seviper releases Shinx and bounces back

Shaking off its paralysis, Piplup runs towards Charmander

"Piplup, use peck now!" Dusk hollers

Piplup lunges towards Charmander but is intercepted by Cyndaquil's Flame Wheel

"Hit 'em again Quill!" Corey shouts

Cyndaquil spins towards Scizor and Seviper

Unfortunately Seviper lands a poison tail, sending Quilava back towards Corey

"Quill get up!" Corey says

Quilava gets up shaking off its dizziness

Shinx lunges at Seviper, fangs bared and lands a thunder fang. Shocking the Seviper, Shinx also hits it with a double kick

Charmander runs in and lands a super effective fire spin on Scizor while Cyndaquil launches an ember attack

Seviper and Scizor stumble backwards into each other, knocking them down

"Ugh! Get those pesky, fire freaks out of here" Dusk says

Piplup then glares at Cyndaquil and Charmander, summoning whirlpool to send at the whole team

Landing the whirlpool, all three of Team Chaos' are drenched in water

"Shinx! No electric moves! You'll hit Quill and Charmander" Boots calls out

Shinx turns and nods at his trainer. Cyndaquil and Charmander shiver from the cold water

Shinx charges at Piplup landing a Night Slash, sending Piplup crashing into Scizor and Seviper

"All three of Team Darks pokemon are unable to battle, Team Chaos is the winner" Mike calls out holding his hand up towards Corey, Sean and Boots

Dusk, Joey and Scott recall their knocked out Pokémon with a huff

"You got lucky dorks, it won't happen again" Scott says turning away, Dusk and Joey in tow

Breathing a sigh of relief, Corey holds her Cyndaquil

"That's my girl Quill, I'm so proud of you" Corey says

"Quill!" Cyndaquil squeaks

"Atta boy Charmander!" Sean cries sliding up to his partner

"Char! Char!" Charmander roars

"You did fantastic Shinx, really were a team player" Boots says kneeling to pet his Shinx

Shinx squeaks and jumps into Boots' arms

"That was one heck of a battle, glad to see fantastic teamwork" a voice says behind Mike

The crew turn their attention to the gal who said the kind words

"Thank you, who might you be?" Corey asks

"I am Numa, Astera's gym leader" she says with a warm smile

"I suppose you four are here to challenge me?" Numa asks

"Yes ma'am we are" Boots says holding his Shinx

"Glad I get to see all of you in action myself" Numa says patting Mike on the shoulder "I will see you all tomorrow"

Giving Numa a two finger salute, Corey turns back to Cyndaquil

"Time to rest up Quill, tomorrow's a big day" Corey says holding up her pokeball

Sean and Boots recall their Pokémon and the team sets out towards a Pokémon hotel

The team double up once again, Sean and Mike while Corey and Boots share a room together

"No funny business you two, we are right next to you" Mike jokes nudging Boots

"Oh my sweet Arceus..." Corey mumbles slapping her forehead

"Oh calm down Core, we're just pushing your buttons" Sean laughs and pats Corey on the shoulder

"But for real, don't be noisy" Sean says with a subtle look

"Go to y'all's room dork muffins" Corey whines as she pushes Sean into Mike

Sharing a good laugh, Mike opens the door to their room as Boots opens theirs

Corey sigh but wishes the boys a good night

As Team Chaos settles in, a distant roar is heard from miles away. Sounding like something in horrible pain...
