Hi
This is becoming a habit
But it's okay
And I don't mind
Because at least
I am talking to you
El still wears that hairtie
And I know that it was Sara's too
You gave it to her
Hop
You gave her the light that kept you going
Through nights of endless pain
Through blackened skies
And falling rain
But I suppose I almost understand
What it feels like to have someone taken from you
Just as things were going to plan
And Hop
Believe me or not
But I miss you as much as miss her
El is too young for this bullsh*t
Its goddamn insane
Cos none of our kids got a childhood
Instead they learnt the meaning of true pain
Whatever this is
It's not normal Hop
And people think you died for Hawkins
But really you died for us
For Sara and El
And I suppose my heart hopes you died for me too
You died
To protect us from the monsters
But my battle is not done
Because sometimes the worst monsters
Are the ones in your head
That cause the millions of tears
Not the ones under your bed
I don't know what else is out there
Or even what happened to you
But
God I really miss you
Yeah Hop
I really do
You'd laugh
And find it funny
That I still doodle your name
Like I'm seventeen
But it's grief that's pulling me to pieces
And it's like nobody else can see
I hope that you are finally happy
That you're living the life you deserved
Because if anyone deserves a second chance
It's you
It was
Always
You
You didn't deserve what life threw at you
And I'm partly to blame I know
So don't tell me the odds
Let me think you are happy
And I won't follow you
Any time
Soon
Yours Truly,
Joyce
