Everyone slowly makes their way out of the pool, and heads upstairs. I walk over to Lyland to tell him goodnight. We end up walking together upstairs as everyone else seems to scramble off in different directions.

"Hey Ly, are you okay?" I ask with concern. It was weird seeing him not super happy.

He smiles over at me, but it doesn't seem as bright as usual. "I'm more than okay, Aura," he answers. He steps toward me as we enter the hallway. His arms rest on either side of me, as he backs me up into a wall.

I laugh at him, "You're not acting like yourself Ly."

He chuckles dryly, leaning forward to kiss my head. "I don't know what you're talking about, Lenny." Something about him seems off, different. I was not a big fan of him when he had alcohol in his system.

"Lenny, what did Cleo mean when she said that you were going to blow her off?" A smile tugs at the end of his lips.

"We can talk about that later, when you're sober Ly," I answer.

"I'm pretty much sober now. You can talk to me baby," he responds. His hand leaves the wall and pushes a strand of my wet hair behind my ear.

I gulp at the closeness. Lyland had me pinned against the wall, with his body just centimeters from me. Last time we were this close we kissed and possibly ruined our friendship, so what was being this close going to mean this time?

I glance at his lips subconsciously, before meeting his eyes again. I could kiss him again, maybe he would be so focused that he would forget what he just asked me. Besides kissing him did feel like heaven on earth.

Summoning all the confidence I have, I press my lips against his. They move slowly against mine, as he moves closer to me. His kiss was soft and amazing, but sloppier than it was earlier. It was also much shorter than our last kiss, as he steps back.

"You almost got out of talking to me Lenny," he says darkly. His voice still sounds like silk even with the darker more emotional tone to it. His voice was as luring as his hair, and his skin. I step closer to him without thinking, lost in the thought of being closer to him.

"Ly, let's just talk about it the morning," I whisper to him. In all honestly, all I wanted to do right now was kiss him again.

"Aurilyn," He says seriously, "what did she mean?"

I sigh, as I reach up to play with his hair. "Tonights my last night socializing for a while. I have to focus on catching back up with my powers after this."

"So you were just going to kiss me and disappear?" he asks. His voice sounds so hurt, that it makes my chest ache.

"Ly, I'm not going to completely disappear. It's not going to be for long either," I whisper to him. My other hand reaches up to stroke his face.

"You have your whole life to train your powers, and catch back up. I could even help you," he whispers back to me. "Why now?"

"I have to figure something out, and I'm on a time limit."

"What do you have to figure out?" He asks. Lyland slowly grabs my hands and pulls them down into his hands. He wraps his hands tightly around both of mine.

No words escape my mouth. I was not going to bring Lyland into this, he didn't need to be brought into it. Lyland was already too involved as is, but if I let him in more I could be putting him in danger.

"Lenny?" he asks, once he realizes I wasn't planning on answering. I stand there like an idiot, my mouth was just hanging open, and everything

His eyes darken and the grey in them begins to swirl like fog. The shadows in his eyes dance. My head feels fuzzy almost like I'm falling into a trance. I look away from him, down to our hands. My lip begins to bleed, and I notice that I had bitten through the skin.
