It still infuriated the living ad out of me that Uncle Abe might not have found that third man yet. Man ad, he is a yeblya pedophile, and the ublyudok deserves whatever Uncle Abe did to him if he found him that is. And whatever both Uncle Abe and Dimitri both will do to him if he has not been found yet. The ublyudok. See, that no good dirty rotten ublyudok even has me swearing in my head in Russian again. (hell, hell, fucking, bastard, bastard, bastard)
"It is truly amazing seeing them skate like that together, especially while knowing that they have never skated together before today." Aunt Serena said thankfully interrupting my thoughts, concerns, and worries.
"Aren't guardians supposed to be all stoic and stuff?" Mason asked as he looked on in shock at the captivated guardians, who were watching my big sestra and her future fiancé and husband in awe. (sister)
And all of the guardian's present, without even turning their heads to look at him, answered his question with a simple but firm. "No."
But Uncle Emil took it one step further. "Mason, when you see something that is as beautiful, as breathtaking, as graceful, and as awe inspiring as Rose and Dimitri are together. Be they skating like this, training, sparring, running, walking around holding hands, smiling at each other, or just standing around talking and loving each other. You stop, and you watch for as long as you safely and appropriately can. Because as guardians, or future guardians in your and Eddie's case. You never know what is going to be the very last bit of beauty that you will ever get to see in this life."
"That is so true, for all of us really, but especially for we guardians and you novices. And we all need to be sure to remember that. Eddie, Mason to be a good guardian you do NOT have to close yourself off from love, life, happiness, family, and friends. Being a guardian is a job, just like any other. It has nothing to do with being stoic and cutting yourself off mentally and emotionally from everyone. Some guardians just do that to try to keep from being hurt, they try to not get close to anyone because they don't want to feel the grief if or when they inevitably die. Even if it is after they retire. This job is time consuming, it is difficult, it is dangerous, at times it is even very painful, and it is life threatening. But what it is not and should not ever be, become, or do. Is keep you away from or cut yourself off from the people that you love and care about or that love and care about you. It also shouldn't prevent you from finding that someone special to share your life with. Just because you become a guardian does not mean that you have to be alone in this life. If you are ever blessed enough to find that someone special, like Rose and Dimitri have thankfully been blessed enough to have found each other, then you grab a hold of them with both hands. And you don't EVER let them go, you hold onto them as if your very life depends on it. Because that may very well be true someday." Mommy Al continued.
"Mmm hmm." All the other guardians agreed. And when they did, I saw Uncle Yuri and Aunt Celeste look at each other and smile.
I was glad that they had found each other as well. Just like Uncle Emil and Aunt Liz have. Thankfully with Aunt Liz being a moroi and Uncle Emil being a dhampir they are able to have children together if they so wish. When Uncle Emil can talk Aunt Liz into taking a break from, and get someone to replace her for a while, the infirmary at the academy. I imagine that being on her feet all day and around sick people would not be good for a pregnant woman or a baby.
As for Aunt Celeste and Uncle Yuri being able to have a family. We seriously need to find a way for two dhampir to procreate together. But if not then they can always adopt, there are sooo many children in our world who don't have their families anymore. It is truly such a shame.
"How would our lives depend on it? I mean how could finding our soul mate possibly save our lives someday?" Mason asked.
"Mason, don't you think that if you fell in love with someone, and they with you, that you would fight even harder to stay alive so that you could get back to them? Especially if you were blessed enough to marry and have a family with them. Wouldn't you fight with every-single-thing that you had in you to return to them?"
