After a quick shower Mick was shaving very carefully. He didn't want to show up at the courthouse with blood all over his face. As he did, it gave him a chance to think. In the couple of years he'd been working with Dell, he'd never actually been over to his house. In fact, he really didn't know him all that well. He was certainly more acquainted with him than any of the other mercenaries- they'd talked and had gone bar hopping on a few occasions, but he never really thought they were this close... But perhaps you just never knew someone until you decide to have a spontaneous wedding- "Fuck!" Right on the home stretch, he nicked himself on the chin. "Aw, bugger..." He groaned as he looked through the cabinets and drawers for something to stop the bleeding. No such luck. The only things he found in Dell's bathroom were a screwdriver, a staple gun, various nuts and bolts, and a half finished sketch of what looked like a device that attached to the forearm drawn on several sheets of toilet paper. Mick sighed and grabbed the towel, holding it onto his face as he left the bathroom. Dell looked up from messing with his metal arm and asked, "You alright?" Mick removed the towel to show him, "Fuckin' cut myself real good." Dell sucked a breath in through his teeth at the sight, "Hold on, I got something for that..." On top of a chest of drawers were several unmarked bottles and Dell grabbed one and handed it over. Mick opened it up and was hit with the strong scent of alcohol and mint. "Uh, I don't know about this mate.", "It's fine. It's aftershave.", "Ah," Mick mused before gently pouring a bit into his hand and rubbing it on his face. It burned like hell but he held it in, just managing to squeak out, "Thanks mate..." Dell laughed, "Yeah, should have warned you first. Sorry. Uh- anyway, I got some options here for ya." Mick sat across from him, blinking the tears out of his eyes as he looked at the shirts Dell had laid out. He tried on the plain white button up, and while it fit, if he lifted his arms up it came untucked. He imagined Caroline's gorgeous eyes looking at him and dread crawled up his gut. He was completely unprepared for this. If she was so special to him, how the hell could he show up in a shirt that was too short for him? Mick flopped back down and sighed, "Maybe this was a bad idea. Maybe we should've just waited a bit longer... Ugh-" He buried his face in his hands, "I don't even have proper rings!... What the hell am I doin'?... She deserves better than this...", "Hey, don't beat yourself up! You love her, right?" Mick looked up at him, confused, "Yeah, 'course I do.", "And she loves you. That's the important part. All this dressin' up and rings and flowers, that's just for the sake of it. Tomorrow it'll all be behind you and what'll really matter then?" Mick blinked. He was right. All this ceremony was just pomp and circumstance. This time tomorrow, Caroline would be his wife. That thought got his stomach flipping. Wife . He looked at Dell, "Why are you goin' all out of your way to help me? I didn't think we were this close." Dell shrugged, "Call me a romantic. I like seein' good people end up together, and if I had a hand in makin' it happen, all the better. Right?" Mick smiled, "Well... Thank you.", "Of course... Micky" Mick swatted at him and Dell just laughed.
