You backed away from the hug. You weren't expecting a hug from Quackity, but it felt nice. Lord knows the last time you had an actual good hug.
When you backed up you saw Quackity's worried expression.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that-" He said shakily before you cut him off.
"Don't apologize. Honestly, I needed it." You smiled softly. Then you went to pick up your backpack again.
"W- where are you going?"
"Away." You replied. "After what happened, I think it's best I leave." You turned to meet Quackity's gaze.
His eyes were wide in surprise and worry. He looked into your eyes to try and find any hint of sarcasm.
"Oh." He whispered. You watched him look anywhere but your face. Trying to find the right words to say. "Well, if you think it's the right thing, I won't stop you."
You were genuinely surprised at his words. Shocked, even. You expected anything but those words to come out of his mouth. If anything you thought he would scream and shout. You thought he would curse you out and make sure you never left his sight again. You thought the leash would tighten around your neck, but instead, he took it off.
"Wait, really? You're just going to let me go?"
"Yes. It was wrong to manipulate you into doing all of this. If you want, though, I can still get the chip out of Pixie. It's up to you."
You looked at Pixie, then at Quackity again. You sighed before you spoke again. "How long will it take?"
"You would have her back tomorrow afternoon if we got her to the vet now."
You looked at Pixie again, thinking of your choices. You could either wait another day to get Pixie fixed by professionals, or you could go now and risk hurting her by taking the chip out yourself. Almost immediately you knew your answer.
"Let's do it." You said as you looked at Quackity again.
You could tell he felt a wave of relief wash over his body. "Okay. Do you want to go now?" He asked as he started to button up his shirt again.
"Yeah." You muttered. You didn't want to stay here longer than intended, but you would do anything to help Pixie. Pixie was there for you your whole life, you will help her with anything. She is your everything. You would do anything for her. So you cut your losses, and put your backpack down.

Quackity didn't take long to finish buttoning his shirt up again. So you, Quackity, and Pixie were walking down the darkened street to get to the vet.
All that you saw was the dark street, sometimes illuminated by the lanterns on the side of the road. You heard your footsteps along with Quackity's and crickets. You smelled smoke and booze from the many bars around the city.
"I'm guessing I can't change your mind to stay, but if I could, what would I have to do?" Quackity asked, breaking the silence.
You thought of what to say. Honestly, you didn't know what he could say or do. You thought nothing would change your mind. "Nothing. My mind is set." You muttered as you put your hands in your pockets.
Quackity sighed. "I understand. And I'm sorry, again. I won't bother you after you leave, I promise."
"Thank you." You said as you looked up at Quackity slightly. You both were standing side by side. Shoulder to shoulder. You weren't tall, but he wasn't either. It was kind of funny. You smiled lightly at the thought.
