You woke up feeling engulfed in a warm cocoon. Groaning, you slowly opened your eyes to see Quackity face to face with you. His arm was draped around your body, holding you close. Feeling his breath against your face, you tried to inch away from his grasp. But he pulled you closer subconsciously, and snuggled farther into you. It was cute, but you needed personal space, too.
Panicked, you started to feel your face heat up. Slowly but steadily, you wiggled out of his arms and onto your side of the bed. Finally out of his reach, you sat up in bed, stretched, and rubbed the sleep from your eyes.
Putting your feet on the ground, you drew back from the cold tile and put on your slippers next to your nightstand.
You exited your bedroom, with Quackity still sleeping peacefully, unbeknownst that you slipped away.
Pixie was also asleep still. She snored quietly on her large dog bed. Randomly she would twitch as she slept. You took her to the vet just in case and they said she had vivid dreams and it was normal. You thought she chased bunnies. It made you smile every time you saw her doing that. Sometimes you would even encourage her, saying things like, 'Get it, Pixie!' Then you would watch as she moved her legs more, trying to catch that damned bunny.
You looked at the clock on your wall and it read 8:43. You normally slept in later, so you were proud you got up early, even though you deserved to sleep in.
After debating for a bit in your mind about what to have for breakfast, you heard Quackity groan from your room. He must be waking up now. You remembered then that you were going to make him make breakfast. So you shrugged it off and waited patiently for him to get up.
Eventually, Quackity's footsteps echoed throughout the living room.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty."
"Hey darling." He groaned and rubbed away the sleep from his face.
You smiled at the name. The nickname wasn't your favorite at first. Or at all. Normally, you hated nicknames from anyone. But you got used to the ones he gave you.
"You're making breakfast." You sighed as you readjusted in your seat.
"Oh yeah I forgot. What do you want? What do you have?"
"I have some waffles if you're fine with that?"
"Yeah sure, let me start those up." His voice was raspy from waking up not too long ago.
As you were waiting patiently, your mind wandered back to the kiss you shared yesterday. Remembering the taste of Quackity's lips, the way he held onto your waist tightly. Pulling you closer towards him. You missed it. Subconsciously, your leg started to bounce, it was an anxiety response to try and calm yourself down. It wasn't working.
Touching your fingers to your lips to remember the feeling. Your mind started to drift farther, and you shut your eyes.
You were suddenly taken out of thought as Quackity caught your attention.
He put a plate of waffles in the middle of the table and sat down. "Breakfast is served." He smiled.
"Thanks." You sighed. How long were you daydreaming?
Quackity gave you a questioning look. "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, why wouldn't it be?"
"I don't know, you're just acting differently."
"No I'm not." You frowned.
"You can't just say no, talk to me."
