How to Love (C!Quackity x reader)

Escape and Nightmares

TW: blood mention, death, panic attack

     Quackity was pulling you away from the fight as a man chased you out. Both of you ran up the stairs that you entered through and back up onto solid ground.

The night had come, it was dark outside when you got out. You heard crickets chirping and fireflies lighting the night sky. But you couldn't admire the stars like you always wanted to, you had to keep running for your life.

As you were running, you could hear the man's footsteps behind you, getting you even more scared. Your feet hurt from the combat boots you wore as you ran on the uneven ground. But you couldn't stop. Your heart ran as fast as you were, as well as your thoughts. Repeating in your head, 'I'm going to die', a million times.

Quackity suddenly turned to the right sharply, trying to lose the man that chased you. He took you both into a small alley in between buildings to lose him. It was a very tight fit with you both face-to-face.

You shook from the cold air, but Quackity was giving off warm body heat that made you want to curl closer to him. So you did.

He whispered with a smile, "Never figured you to be this much of a cuddler."

You looked up at him and hit his arm. "Shut up," You whispered, "I don't want to get caught, dumbass."

"Shh,"

"No, but I think we lost him-"

You were cut off as you felt Quackity's lips against yours, shushing you. It sent a shiver down your spine. You didn't expect him to kiss you, or for you to enjoy it, or for it give you a warm feeling inside.

Hearing the man's footsteps walk past your alleyway, you leaned farther into the kiss. Putting your hands around his neck, he put his around your waist.

You had to back away to catch some air. When you did, he smiled.

"What?" You smiled.

"Your heart's beating really fast, I can hear it."

"No duh, idiot, we just ran away from a guy trying to kill us and then we do... that."

"Yeah, you're right." He said as he let go of your waist.

"...We should probably go, right?" You let go of his neck.

"Yeah."  He said, trying to look anywhere but your face.

You both agreed to get going, but neither of you moved. Instead, you gave a peck to his cheek and then walked out of the alley and motioned for him to follow. When you turned around to tell him to follow, you saw him holding a hand to his cheek where you kissed. He looked at you and put his hand at his side before following you.

"...So, should we talk about what happened? In the alley?" You asked quietly.

"Tomorrow. Today is confusing enough as it is." He replied.

"Okay." You smiled.

Both of you walked side by side back to Las Nevadas.

Your mind was racing as you walked together silently.

Why did you do that? Why did you lean into it? Why did you like it? Is Foolish okay? How many lives did he have and how many now? Is the fight still happening? What's going to happen? Is the Eggpire finally destroyed? If not, should we team up with Technoblade to finally destroy it? You were scared. You felt like you had to do something. But you will find out later what happened. Right now, you just need to get home safely.
