SINCE KLAUS HELPED JADE into their car last night, the girl had slept soundly throughout the journey to their new destination, exhaused from the events. They didn't talk, they walked quietly and slowly down the mountain, surrounded only by the sounds of the forest, the night, the rustling of distant animals. Jade didn't have the slightest desire to explain her hallucinations, and Klaus didn't even need to ask.
He knew.
The Original killed the engine and tilted his head towards the back seat of the car, focusing his gaze on the sprawled out blonde. He raised an eyebrow, wondering if all her bones were intact. She layed on her back, one arm hooked on the back of the seat while the other dangled in the air. One leg was bent under her body, the other placed on the ground in a... strange way.
Her black cat also sleeping, curled up in a ball on her stomach.
"Are you finally going to tell me where we are, or will you keep staring at her?" Stefan snapped him out of his trance, making him shot a knowing look, nodding towards the blonde. The vampire looked at her and raised his eyebrows, mimicking the Original's expression. "Wow, nevermind. Do we need to call an exorcist?"
Klaus huffed in amusement and brought one of his hands to shake the Forbes woman awake. "Jade." He murmured gently. "Jad━"
"What?!" She snapped, waking up violently. Morticia jumped up by the commotion and hissed angrily at the Original, batting his hand away with her paw. Klaus narrowed his eyes at the animal, which only make her hiss some more. "Yeah, I agree." Jade muttered, nodding at Morticia and making Klaus' eye roll. She blinked rapidly, trying to fully wake herself up, her eyes looking outside of the car's window. "Where the fuck are we?" She asked hoarsely, one of her hands rubbing her face.
Klaus smirked and looked over at Stefan, who was still waiting for his answer. "Welcome back to Chicago, Stefan." He said as he swung open the car's door and stepped out.
Both Salvatore and Forbes raised their eyebrows in unison, following the hybrid out of the car. "Chicago? What are we doing here?" Stefan asked, trailing behind the Original.
"I know how much you loved it here." Klaus mused with as his eyes raked over the Windy City's landscape. "Bringing back memories of the good old ripper days?" He asked, glancing at the transfixed Salvatore.
Jade walked toward them with a tired step, one of her hands wiping some dried blood from her face from yesterday's... events with some wet wipes she found in the glove box.She looked at the back of the Original's head, wondering what he was thinking of her now. Did he even think anything, or had he already forgotten about it? She preferred the latter, it was enough that those who knew were looking at her with pitying eyes that she absolutely hated. She never wanted to add anyone to that group ever again.
