Chapter 2
I stared at him in disbelief. "What?"
"I know you need the money for the tuition and I can give you what you need. In exchange, you have to help me." He answered nervously.
What he said is true. I do need money to continue to stay in this school. Attending Rosemarie Academy guarantees a good education and the advantages of getting into a top ranked university. Of course, these benefits come with a cost. The tuition fee for this school is not something that a middle class me can afford and trust me, I really do want to give my aunt and myself a good future.
"What exactly do you want me to do?"
There was a short pause before Adrian replied. "I want you to turn me into a guy that everyone wouldn't look down on."
"What?" I exclaimed, not believing what I’m hearing.
"You know... help me become... better looking and cooler..." Adrian stammered. His cheeks flushed red with embarrassment.
His words totally confused. Did I hear right? Are my ears playing tricks on me? Adrian Reverie, the richest kid in school couldn't have asked the poor Erin Moore to turn him into a prince.
Wait... actually it is pretty believable since Adrian gets bullied most of the time and when he isn't, he's practically invisible.
But that still doesn't explain why he wants me to help him make the new him. I mean I'm not much better than him, except that no one has ever bullied me.
"Oh." That was the only word that I could manage to utter out.
“Will you help me?"
Adrian gave me his puppy dog face and damn, he looks adorable. He looks like a little lost puppy. If it was the old Erin, she'll probably give in and seal the deal out of kindness but this is the new Erin.
"No." It only took a tiny bit of effort for me to reject him. Over the past years, I've learned to be cold hearted. I tried my best to distance myself with everyone. After all, it only takes so much to completely shatter a girl's heart.
Adrian seemed hurt by my response. "Why?" He whispered in a voice that almost made me feel guilty. Almost.
"Because I don't want to." I know I need the money to continue my education in Rosemarie Academy, but I really don't want to get involve with anymore conflicts. There’s always other ways for me to earn more money. If I have to, I’ll even work 3 jobs a day.
Suddenly, the bell rang, signalling for the start of 6th period.
“Well, I guess I’m going to go now.” I started to back away from Adrian until he spoke up again.
“If you ever change your mind, my offer still stands.”

I made my way to Amelia’s house. Before we separated last night, Mike, Amelia and I made plans to meet at Amelia’s after school today. I walked up the steps and rang the doorbell. Within seconds, Amelia opened the door and gave a loud, high pitch shrill before pulling me into a suffocating hug.
“C-can’t... breathe.” I choked out.
Mike, who is also at the doorway, chuckled at the sight before pulling Amelia off me and we all head for the living room.
