Chapter 16

Izuku sat in the Midoriya apartment. By his side was his mother along with Aizawa. Infront of them stood both Bakugo and Itsuka, they were still waiting for Todoroki. It had been a mere hour since the end of the Sports Festival, but Izuku still feared Endeavor, or what ever was piloting his body, had gotten to Todoroki. It was then that a knock on the door was heard.

Inko: "I'll get it."

She got up and left their sights, coming back just a moment later with Todoroki in tow. She reclaimed her seat next to Izuku while Todoroki sat across from them with Bakugo and Itsuka.

Todoroki: "Alright, I'm here. What's going on?"

Izuku: "First I need ensure something. Everyone here, minus Todoroki, are aware of the homunculi and what happened back during Edward Elric's time, correct?"

Everyone but Todoroki nodded.

Izuku: "Good. Take a look at this."

He pulled put the photo of Endeavor he took from Todoroki and placed it on the table. Everyone immediately spotted the red oroboros tattoo. Inko let out an audible gasp.

Inko: "No. It can't be!"

Izuku: "How long has he been different Todoroki?"

Todoroki: "Just over a year."

Bakugo: "So the Number 2's been an inhuman monster for more than a year eh?"

Izuku: "I'm afraid so. But Todoroki also told me that there are moments where his old self seems to return, meaning Endeavor isn't lost in the sea of souls within the Philosopher's Stone."

Todoroki: "What's a Philosopher's Stone?"

Izuku: "A powerful object made using human souls. It has the capability to make it's holder regenerate until it's empty."

Inko: "Or use the souls inside as raw materials, effectively making the Law of Equivalent Exchange null."

Todoroki: "The... what?"

Izuku sighed.

Izuku: "Alright. First thing you need to know is, I'm quirkless."

Todoroki looked confused.

Todoroki: "No you aren't. You can change the shape and make up of matter."

Izuku nodded.

Izuku: "You're right, I can. But that's not a quirk, it's Alchemy. Alchemy is an ancient practice, more ancient than the very ground we walk on."

Todoroki: "You're speaking nonsense."

Izuku: "You might think that. But tell me, have you ever heard of the Empire of Xing? How about the nation known as Amestris?"

Todoroki: "I think I read something about them somewhere. Why?"

Izuku: "Because, they existed. Thousands of years ago, all connected. But the event that led to their separation, the very catalyst for our evolution towards quirks is taking place once more, and we must stop it."

Todoroki: "How can you be sure?"

Izuku nodded towards the picture.

Izuku: "That, and-"

He placed the decoded message on the table.

Izuku: "This. The Homunculi were the soldiers of the original Homunculus, who named itself Dwarf. He was defeated, though who's to say he didn't have a backup plan. If the Homunculi are rising once more, then we have a lot of work ahead of us."

Todoroki: "Say I believe you, what dies those sentences have to do with anything?"

Izuku: "'To defeat the one who takes all, the power for all but wielded by one is needed. The sins of the past are to be repeated.' After great amounts of research, including looking through hundreds of newspapers, I found reference of an old villain named All For One. It was rumored that he could take and give quirks. Obviously quirks were no where near that powerful yet, so it was written off as nothing but a cautionary tale towards quirked children."

Izuku motioned towards the message again.

Izuku: "This rumor fits the description of the one who takes all perfectly. If he was real, and really could take quirks, who was stopping him feom taking quirks to slow his aging?"

Todoroki nodded.

Todoroki: "I see. Your logic seems sound, but who wrote this warning?"

Izuku: "Ling Yao, twelfth prince of the Empire of Xing, ex-homunculi, ally of Edward Elric, and disgraced after attempting to stop the Emperor from recreating a Philosopher's Stone. That is what we know. What we don't know is how he knew they would resurface."

Todoroki remained silent. Izuku stood up, walked over, and placed his hand on Todoroki's shoulder.

Izuku: "I understand this is a lot to take in. You can go if you want, but remember, you're part of this now. We have your back and we hope you'll have ours."

Todoroki stayed silent for a few more seconds before looking Izuku in the eyes.

Todoroki: "I may not understand all this, but I can't just ignore it. I'll be there when you need me Midoriya. Is there anything else I absolutely need to know?"

Izuku nodded.

Izuku: "We believe Nezu is against us. Whether he is a Homunculi or is just working with them, we don't know. But because of these suspicions, we cannot speak of this with you at school."

Todoroki: "I see. I'll be going now."

Bakugo: "Yeah I need to go to. The Hag's gonna worry if I'm gone too long."

Aizawa: "I need to go.... make tests."

The three got up to leave. After they did, Inko, Izuku, and Itsuka were left.

Izuku: "Don't you have anywhere you need to go Kendo?"

Itsuka: "No, not really. Though I do want to talk to you about something."

Izuku: "Alright, what is it?"

Itsuka went quiet for a couple seconds.

Itsuka: "I-in private."

She got up, grabbed him by his arm, and dragged him to his room. Inko suppressed an excited giggle. Once inside, she let go of him and closed his door.

Izuku: "So, what now?"

He noticed Itsuka's face had a red tint to it.

Izuku: "You're red, are you okay?"

Itsuka took a small step closer.

Itsuka: "Y-yeah, I a-am."

Izuku: "Well then. W-what did you need to tell me."

He was suddenly feeling a bit nervous. The kiss on the cheek from earlier came back to his mind.

Itsuka: "W-well. You see. Um. I know tha- ugh."

Izuku: "I-It's okay. Take your time."

Itsuka: "I'm okay. I'm just not sure i-if this is a g-good idea."

Izuku sent her a reassuring smile.

Izuku: "You won't know until you say it."

After a few more tries of voicing what she wanted, she gave up. Instead of talking, she walked up close to him, grabbed him by the shirt, pulled him close, and planted her lips on his. They stayed like that for a few seconds before separating for air.

Itsuka: "What I wanted to tell you, is that I like you Izuku."

Izuku smiled and they kissed again.

Izuku: "I, like you too Itsuka. I-I can  you Itsuka now, r-right?"

She laughed and nodded.

Itsuka: "Of course you can!"

Izuku then remembered something she said.

Izuku: "You didn't know if this as a good idea, why?"

Itsuka looked down.

Itsuka: "With the new information, I thought things might get too dangerous and busy for a relationship."

She looked back up at him.

Izuku: "We'll make it work, I promise."
