"The book is bout my life; what I learned, what I loss, what I done. My bottom that led me to the top. It's all just compact knowledge that I learned bout survival in the LBC. This foreal. When I sit back and look at my life, I shoulda been outta here years ago. But I'm still here, and while I had the time, I had to write my story down while I was in that mind space. I'm onto the next chapters. Ima teach you how to hustle the rightway, and know that just because they brand us wit 'felon' don't mean yo' life limited. Gotta be better than you was yesterday."
The producer gave him a thumbs up, and De stood up to get the mic pack off. He was on the production floor of Stone Publishing taping a promo video for his book that was released yesterday.
De thanked the producer's assistant that assisted him with removing the mic pack and approached his manager and Ryze. "Jayla called and we have great news," Arie told him handing his phone over to him.
"What news would that be?" he asked.
"Your book is sold out!" Ryze unveiled, "Every single website. It was gone overnight. We've been getting email after email from your fans that was too late purchasing one asking when more would be posted. We're gonna do pre-sales for the next day or two until the books are back posted."
"Aight then!" De smiles, dancing a little. "They fuckin' wit me. And the book tour?" he asked.
"Two weeks. It'll be full of press, press, and even more press. Arie let me know next week you gotta attend your son's tournament for the August Cup, and the opening of your cigar lounge."
De nodded as Arie spoke, "and the song; DeAundre, we gotta push the song. We can incorporate the record with the book tour. Kill two birds in one stone."
"As in perform it?"
"That wouldn't be a bad idea," Ryze agreed with Arie. "The song has been all over your book's promo. Push it further. This'll be a new type of book tour, but one that will embody you."
