Looks like E has set his sights on a new target, and who might that be, you ask? None other than the latest belle of the ball, our darling Y/N L/N, a brand new, freshly minted virgin on the scene. You know the drill, loves. Predictable as ever, isn't he?

"Yes. He is predictable." Mikasa whispers under her breath, her eyes hovering over the words on the bright screen of her phone. "Very predictable." She sighs, shutting her phone off and shoving it into the pockets of her black denim mini skirt, which was paired with a red lace top and an equally scarlet leather jacket, the sleeves reaching the palm of her hands. A red, heart shaped pendant graced her neckline, something that had never left the premises of her neck since the day he put it on her.

Beneath the open roof of Maria Campus's library stood the young woman with short, dark locks. Her features were impeccable, accompanied by flawless skin. Intricate black patterns resembling spiderwebs adorned the open roof, allowing sunlight to cascade onto her in precisely the right spots. All the boys in the library had their eyes on her rather than the books in their hands.

The library exuded a majestic aura, arguably securing its position as the finest and most expansive repository on the entire campus. Its vast space was crammed with an immense collection of bookshelves, nearly all of which boasted wooden ladders conveniently attached.

Positioned at the center, Mikasa stood beside a wooden table adorned with a dainty lamp and a neat stack of miniature books. The floor beneath her was subtly sunken, creating a gentle variation in level from the surrounding area. She clutched her phone tightly, continuously glancing at the clock stuck on the wall, waiting for a certain someone. She let out a sigh, her patience wearing thin.

He was already 15 minutes late.

As soon as the girl started losing hope and glanced down to her phone to look over the last text message she had sent him, her view got graced with the image of him entering the Library. To meet her. Only her.

"Eren!" She smiled, waving her hand at the boy. He had rich brown hair, tied up into a confident half up-half down bun, with a few strands left astray to frame his chiseled face. A face she had gotten used to seeing everyday since the day she was born.

He noticed her, his eyebrows raising in acknowledgement as he made his way to her, his hands in the pocket of his jeans. She had texted him to meet her in the Maria Campus Library. He was already annoyed he had to take the crowded Jitney since his car keys were still with Armin, taking him even more time to reach here than he intended too. His last class was in the Sina Campus, which was almost 15 minutes away from the Maria Campus. He was exhausted, all he wanted to do right now was go back to his dorm and lay down on his bed.

"Yeah, sorry." Eren sniffles, wiping his nose with his knuckles. Mikasa's eyes widened as she noticed the look on his face, her eyebrows furrowed in worry. "Hey, what's wrong?" She whispered, as she observed his face.

His eyes displayed an almost bloodshot crimson hue, with the lower edges of his teal irises tinged in a noticeable red shade. His hair appeared more disheveled than its usual state, and even his impeccably sculpted nose bore a faint reddish tint.

"Have you been using again?" Mikasa asked, "You went to rehab last summer, you relapsed already?" She whispered, tilting her head as she placed a hand on his cheek.
