Kwai and I walked in to the room, to find a dark living room. Suddenly the lights went on and 6 turning office chairs were turned around to find all my friends sitting. "We've been expecting you Kwaire." Emile said. "What are you guys doing?" "We are asking Kwai a few simple questions... to check if he is a worthy boyfriend." Geneva said. "Did you guys buy these just for this?" Kwai asked. "I bought them. and they weren't cheap." Julia complained.
I had to say, Kwai was nailing all the questions. "What's Claire's favourite flower?" Julia asked. "Tiger lilies." Kwai answered and I gave him a high five. "How many times have you guys had sex?" Kyra asked. "4 times. And this checks if I'm worthy... how?" "Ohhh! The correct answer is never, because you will be waiting until you're married." Abby said. I rolled my eyes.
"What was Claire's nickname in 3rd grade?" Emile asked. "Ummm... Oreo...Queen?" "Damn! Right again." Emilie said tallying the points. "Would you ever hurt Claire, because I swear to god if you do..." Kyra started. "Okay! I would never hurt her." Kwai said frightened.
"Who was Claire's least favorite Mr. Ray. I mean Math teacher. Damn it!" "Laura!" We all yelled. She just spun her chair back around slowly.
"What would you do if Claire went crazy and bought an alpaca, huh, what would you do?!" Geneva said while standing up and walking towards Kwai.
"First off, Claire would buy an alpaca now for the heck of it, even if she isn't crazy, I think she's sane. Secondly I'd name the alpaca Androw." Kwai answered. I reached out and fist bumped him.
They all turned back around and whispered for 5 minutes. They all turned. "Kwai, we are all disappointed in you, you scored a 97%. You are an insufficient boyfriend." They all shaked their heads.
"C'mon guys! My last boyfriend wouldn't have known all that, and he wouldn't have cared! A 97%? Really? The only question he got "wrong" was how many times we had sex, and that answer was RIGHT! In school do they fail you if you get a 88%? A 98%? A 70%? NO! He is my boyfriend. And maybe I'll marry him someday, I don't know! But if you disapprove now, I will hate you all for the rest of our lives." I said a little out of breath.
I heard a slow clap, then faster, then a full on applause. "We wanted to see if you would stand up for your love. The other 3% was all you. Kwai was good for you, but were you good for Kwai? We wanted to see if you'd fight for your love." Julia said with a little tear in her eye.
"Guys! That is.. I don't know... sweet? Now, let's go get some tacos!" I yelled. We all walked out the door. "Hey, that reminds me, I made a new friend, his name is Sal." Kwai said catching up to me.
I was glad to know Kwai was expanding his friends circle beyond us. We were pretty weird and we were starting to rub off on him.
