Falling Out

Three years passed. And things had not been going well. Rose had gradually changed. She no longer responded to voicemails and texts within the usual time frame. And that was only one little thing. Dates became few and far between. The gifts he bought her were nowhere to be seen in her home after a week or two. And she had been spending more time on her phone. Whatever was on her screen, she was smiling at it more than him. Along the way, Offender had grown more and more suspicious. Eventually, he started tracking her. And what he found out shook him to his core. Rose had been cheating. It wasn't just dates, either. She had been sleeping with other men for a year and a half. Usually, he wouldn't have cared. But Rose was special to him. Or, rather, she had been. As he caught her again and again, his patience wore thin.

Offender didn't break up with Rose right away. He didn't want to. He couldn't. But they were becoming less like a couple and more like super close friends if even that. They were more like acquaintances at this point. As things dragged on, he saw his relationship more clearly. And finally, he was done. Offender saw what Rose was really like. He broke it off.

Rose had been with so many guys while dating Offender. Most of them were flings and not worth him getting infuriated over. But there was one. One of her men was a threat. And he had been the final nail in the coffin of Offender and Rose's waning relationship. His name was Zalgo, and he was a demon among demons. He was also the only enemy the Slender family had. Most of the Human world was unaware of the supernatural or knew little about it. Zalgo had picked up Rose one night at his favorite club. They hit it off immediately, and he had taken her back to his domain. When Offender found out, it was the breaking point. He cut all ties with Rose. With one last call and text, it was over.
