This is everything i never wanted

I coughed up all the dust I breathed in.
When I see a small light turn on, I turned to see Brenda with a flashlight.

"You okay?" Brenda asks
"Oh yeah, great." I say sarcastically
I kept coughing then I saw her shine the flashlight around the place.
She walks over to a vent in the ground. She crouched down and started to lift it up.
"A little help?" She asks
"I'm coming I'm coming" I say making my way over to help her.
We got it opened and looked down with the flashlights. I heard a screeching type of sound.
I looked at Brenda with my eyebrows raised
"That doesn't sound very pleasant." I say
"Yeah. Well down here, they'll be full term" she says jumping down before I could even say anything
"Oh great how fun" I mumble

"I think it's this way." Brenda says
"You think?..." I mumble

"Do people live down here?" I say breaking the awkward silence
"The Solar Storms forced people underground. Jorge says there's settlements all over these tunnels." Brenda explained
"About Jorge. Is he your father?" I say
"Close enough. Truth is, I don't really know what he is. He's just always been there. And I've always done what he's asked me to do, no matter how stupid." She answered me
"So you don't think the Right Arm is real?" I ask
But before she answers we hear and noise and point our flashlights in that direction but nothing is there

"I think, Hope is a dangerous thing. Hope has killed more of my friends than the Flare and the Scorch combined. Just thought Jorge was smarter than that." She said
We stop as the tunnels become two ways.
"Damn." Brenda mumbled
"Great another maze how convenient" I say sarcastically
I went through one of the tunnels and saw a light at the end of it.

"Hey, I think it might be this way." I tell Brenda
But when I get no answer I turn back around
"Brenda? Brenda?" I call
"Over here." She calls back
"Look at this." She says
"What? What is it?" I ask
There were vines looking things on the walls but not like ivy whatever this is, it doesn't look good.
"What the hell is this?" I mumbled
"I don't know" Brenda answers

Then we heard a scream down one side of the tunnels making us jump. Then a ray ran out of a small tunnel in front of us, Brenda scoffed and shook her head.

It ran towards us and Brenda kicked it.
We watched it walk off until an arm grabbed it out of no where and ate it. We flashes are lights seeing a crank but a lot less human this time.
Then we heard more noises. It was more cranks

"Alright let's go!" I yell
"Yep run run!" Brenda yells
We start to run it even knowing where we are going

We run into a dead end so Brenda starts to climb
"Come on Reyna!!" She yells and I don't hesitate to follow

We kept running and climbing, dodging cranks junking at us

We make our way up these stairs and Brenda goes to grab a medal bar when it breaks and she falls back on a door. But the door opened up and she fell onto a window.
As she landed it cracked.

"Brenda! You okay?" I yell
"Yeah." She answers
"Alright, I'm gonna find a way down." I tell her
She slowly starts to move adding pressure and it starts to crack more.
"No! Brenda, don't move! Don't move!" I tell
I slide down holding on tightly to anything to make sure I don't fall too.

I get as close as I can to her and reach my hand out

"Come on. Grab my hand." I tell her
She reached forward trying to grab my hand, but then we heard another shrieking sound, we looked up at the door seeing another crank
"No! No! No! No!" I yelled as it slid down at Brenda
"Reyna!!" She yelled trying to kick the crank off of her
"Brenda!" I tell reaching out my hand again
"I can't reach!" She yells

The crank grabbed her ankle pulling her away. I grabbed the closest thing to me and got as close as I could.
"Brenda!" I yell
I held my hand out again but closer this time and she finally was able to grab it.
The crank grab her leg and she let out a cry.

I threw something at the crank. As it hit the crank it fell backwards and broke the glass. I held on tightly on to Brenda making sure she didn't fall to.
"I got you. I got you." I say pulling her up

We got back down on the ground when Brenda stops and sits down.
"You alright?" I asked her
She rolled up her pants showing a bite mark on her leg. A crank bite.
"Shit." She mumbled
"Brenda." I start but she cuts me off
"Yeah, yeah. I know." She says as she wrapped her leg and got up
"Let's just go find Marcus." She said walking off

"Hey, are you sure this is the place?" I asked
She didn't say anything but when we walked up someone ask us
"You here for the party?" A woman says who was obviously drunk
"Uh, no. We're looking for Marcus. This is his place, isn't it?" Brenda asks
"This is my place." A man speaks up
We turned to look at him and I feel the woman touch my arm some. Quickly making me feel uncomfortable.
"Are you Marcus?" I ask him
"Marcus, doesn't live here anymore." He said
"Do you know where we can find him?" Brenda asks

"Sure, sure. He's over in zone B." The man said
"Okay. What's zone B?" I asked
"It's where they burn the bodies." The woman whispered in my ear.
"Okay, look, has anyone else been by here looking for him? Group of kids around our age? They had a girl with them. Dark hair." I say
"You know, I think they might be inside. Here. Drink this." He held a bottle filled with who knows what
I looked down at it and asked
"What is it?"
"The price of admission." He answers me

I looked at Brenda
"Drink it!" He yelled in frustration.
Then Brenda grabbed it from him and drank some making a disgusting face as she drank it.
"Your turn." He said
I grabbed it from Brenda and slowly brought it to my lips. Once I was about to stop the woman's hand touch it pushing it up more making me gulp down a lot more than I wanted.
The man smirked
"Alright. You two, enjoy the party." he said pushing us into the building

"Maybe we should split up. See if we can find the others." Brenda says
I nodded
"Hey. Don't drink anything else." She said before walking away
I nodded again I looked around trying to find anyone.
I heard cheering so I turned to see people cheering and a crank chained up. I walked closer to see a guy right in front of it holding a gun, before he pointed it at him and shot.

"That was fun!" The guy yells
Everything around me felt like it was going in slow motion. I walked backwards and bumped into a man.
"What?" He laughed
I turned back around to see brenda there
"Brenda?" I said
"They're not here." She says
"No no they have to be here. We should keep looking." I told her
"Why? We can't find the Right Arm, anyway. Not without Marcus. Your friends are gone. It's over." She said

I start to have a panic attack. No no no no. They can't be gone. They just can't. I started to look around again but I look up to see Chuck, alby, George, and ben looking at me
"You could have saved us!" They yelled
"If you just would have tried harder we would be alive!!" They yell at me
"No no no I did I did try" I say as I start to cry

I turn again to see thomas Minho newt fry all of them are cranks.
I'm frozen. All of my friends are dead because of me. I turn around again but this time I'm met with a griever.

My body finally gives out on me and I collapse. The last thing I see is someone over me calling my name
