"Go on then, kill me. I don't want to be here anyways, so kill me!" I scream at him with tears in my eyes.
"Kill me already!" I cry. Bill looks at me with pity, "Al-" He stammers before I cut him off. "No, Bill. Do it!" I cry before falling to my knees.
He looks at me before pointing his gun at my head, I hear a bang, but don't feel anything. Bill drops to the floor and Tom walks in, tears in his eyes.
Tears welled up in his eyes as the deafening echoes of the gunshot faded away, leaving behind an eerie silence. Holding the smoking gun, he gazed at the lifeless form of his own brother lying on the ground before him. The weight of his actions settled upon his shoulders like a crushing burden, his heart torn between the desperate act of saving me and the irreparable loss of family. my life spared at the cost of another. As the realization of what he had done sank in, a tidal wave of sorrow and regret engulfed him, the raw ache of his choice cutting deeper than any wound.
Bill struggles, then sits up.
As his trembling fingers pressed against the searing pain in his chest, his gaze fixed upon the face of the one who had once shared his blood. Blood now stained his hands, not just from the wound, but from the shattered bond that had led them to this fateful moment. With a rasping breath, he mustered the strength to whisper his final words, a fragile blend of disbelief and sorrow. "Tom... How could you?" His voice quivered, carrying a weight of shattered memories and shattered dreams. In his eyes flickered the remnants of a connection that time and circumstance had cruelly torn apart, leaving behind a haunting question of what could have been. And as the darkness beckoned, he clung to the fragile hope that his words might rekindle something lost within the heart of the brother who had become his executioner.
"I'd trade my life for yours if I could, but I can't change what's happened. Please, in whatever comes after this, find it in your heart to forgive me. I love you, Bill, and I'm so, so sorry." Tom says, his voice breaking.
I stare in shock at what had just happened and quickly shout to tom, "give me your phone, give it to me!" I say, tears in my eyes. I dont know why I'm crying, maybe because of the guilt of what just You happened, the bond of 2 brothers broken for me.
Tom just stands there so I frantically search him for a phone and I find one and call emergency services. Within 5 minutes they take him away. Tom still stands there, not moving, only shaking with tears falling from his eyes. This is the first time I see him cry. I cant look, and while I have the chance, I leave. Tom still doesn't move a muscle.
I walk out of the building and walk the streets, I have nowhere to go so I just continue to walk. Some old woman saw me through her window and Invited me in, she offered me tea.
"so dear, it's late. Why are you outside? You look rough Darling. Do you need a place to stay?" she says to me.
"yes, please. If its not too much to ask." I say , my voice shaking. It smells weird in here. Like old people, but a place to stay is a place to stay so I can't complain.
The woman nodded and showed me to the guest room where I immediately got into bed. I laid there for a while before falling asleep.
