i wake up, the sun from the window blinding me, i forgot what happened last night. Now its all coming back to me. The look of betrayal on bill's face. I cant get it out of my mind now. Why did Tom shoot his brother for me? and why hasn't he found me yet?

I leave the bedroom, and try find the nice old lady who let me stay here. I shout a couple times, "hello?" no answer, maybe she's asleep, or just cant hear me. She could be hard of hearing, she is old after all.

I stare in horror as I see a pool of blood on the floor, and the woman beside it. I sit on the floor and cry, she didn't deserve this. Why kill her, but leave me there? he should've took me and spared her life. She was so sweet to me. I call the ambulance for her and leave before they get here, they wouldn't have believed me if I said I didn't do this to her. It broke my heart to see her like that, I didn't know her at all, and she didn't know me, yet she was still so kind to let me sleep here.

I walk the streets, once again. All I can do is cry. What is my life? I don't want to get close to anyone. Who knows what will happen, I dont want what happened to that sweetheart of a woman to happen to anyone else. Ever.

hours later, 9:45pm.

I walk to the elevator, and go to the top floor. The roof. I walk to the edge, and carefully sit down, I want to enjoy the view. The city is bright. The air is cold.

I hear sirens below, all it reminds me of is the people that have recently passed. Bill, The woman. I will call her Mabel, meaning "loveable."  See, Bill was nice to me sometimes, I felt pity for him as he seemed controlled by his brother. I think he just wanted to fit in, now he's gone.

Each day feels like an eternity, a relentless cycle of pain inflicted by a heartless gangster who finds pleasure in torment. The weight of my isolation is unbearable; there's no comforting voice, no familiar face to share even a fleeting moment of solace. The memories of those I once held dear are etched in my mind like scars, each one a painful reminder of the ruthless toll exacted by the merciless tormentor. I contemplates the edge of the building, the only escape seems to be a plunge into the abyss below, and the tears that fall go unnoticed.

I found myself standing on the edge ready to end my life. The weight of the world had become too much to bear, and hope seemed like a distant memory. But just as I was about to take that final step, a glimmer of unexpected salvation appeared. Tom, who had been the source of my torment for months, emerged from the shadows. In a twist of fate, he chose to save me instead of continuing his reign of terror. He runs to me and pulls me from the edge, we both fall to the ground. We sit in silence for a while.

"what are you doing here? Why are you doing this?" I cry to Tom, he sits there and says nothing.

I stand up and run back over to the ledge, I see the shock in his eyes as he rushes towards me.
"Come any closer and I'll jump." I shout and he stops in his tracks. "Why are you doing this?" I ask again and I see him try to talk, but no words come out.

"fine, I guess i'll just have to jump."
I turn around and face the edge of the building, I see all the cars, all the people. I step forwards.

"STOP." Tom shouts and I turn around.

"what?" I say, waiting for a response, a reason.

nothing.

"what are you doing? you tell me to stop, but no reason why, You kill your own brother for me, but for no good reason, why are you here? Why do you care?" I say, tearing up as I speak.

Still nothing, I turn around and jump.

Luckily there was a ledge not much further down, but he doesn't have to know that.

All I hear is Tom shouting , but I can't hear what he's saying, I see him look over the edge and I'm out of sight. I see tears fall, After a while I know he's gone, I climb the ladder back up to the top, I look and he's still there staring, He runs to me and hugs me tight.

"why?" I mumble

"because I love you." Tom says, leaving me in shock.
