-Elijah Harper-
Evelyn was still asleep in my arms, she looked so calm she hasn't been calm in years I believe.
Seeing her calm for once makes me so fucking happy, I still wish I had gotten her out of there sooner.
I was just grateful shes no longer there anymore.
My eyes flicker towards her as she stirs in my arms "what time is it.." she says tiredly.
I look over at my phone "almost eleven" I say making her head shoot up.
"Shit, if I'm late for work I'm blaming you." She says all of. a sudden.
"Why would I be the one to blame." I ask fully knowing what she's gonna say, or at least point out.
Evelyn glared at me before getting up "you lay down, I'll get the bath ready" I say making her frown but staying in bed.
I walk towards her closet and grabbed some clothes for her, and bring them to the bathroom before turning on the bath.
When I walk back towards her I see Evelyn on her phone, she looks at me and gives me a smile before turning off her phone.
I pick her up and help her in the tub Evelyn body slumps against my chest as I help her wash her hair.
We were now in her kitchen trying to find out what to eat, she still hasn't decided and I went back to my penthouse to change.
"You still haven't figured something out?" I ask making her shake her head.
"I don't really know what to eat." She says shrugging, i walk towards her fridge "wait don-" she says.
My eyes widened seeing the beer bottles in the fridge, I didn't realize it was this bad..
I turn towards her seeing Evelyn just standing there uncomfortably "ev..why." I say softly walking towards her.
"It helps, it helps me not think of them anymore, or feel them.." she says trying to hide herself from me.
I tilt her chin up to look at me "hey- don't do that with me, don't hide yourself from me okay?" I say softly hugging her.
She had to quit. There was so many other ways to get away from her past I didn't want her hurting herself doing so.
"I'll help you quit Ev" I say softly she looks up at me "you'd do that for me?" She asks.
I nod my head "I'd do anything for you" I say truthfully, I hated being around alcohol and tried my best to stay away from it because of them.
Even if I smelt alcohol the memories would rush back, alcohol helped Evelyn get away from her past, but it only brought it back for me.
She gives me a soft smile looking up at me "does this mean you'll stop stalking me now that I know it's you?" She asks.
"Nah, why would I stop making sure your safe." I say earning a glare from her "you better not stalk me when I'm at work." She glared "or I'll smack you." She said
"Wait no- you'd like that because your fucking weird" she whispers to herself making me chuckle. There's my girl.
We finally found something to eat, although it was just fruit but still we found something.
"I can't believe you. Strawberries are the best" she claims, "watermelon is better." I shrug.
She lets out a huff "then don't eat the strawberries" she says pointing to them.
I grin "it's fun seeing you pissed off, so I think ill continue eating them, angel." I say before eating the strawberry.
She rolls her eyes before looking at her phone "I should probably get ready for work." She says softly.
