I take a deep breath before knocking on the door to my parents house.

They were both home, and I decided to tell them about Elijah and I since it's been almost two weeks since him and I got together.

"Relax Ev." He says softly rubbing my hand, I didn't realize I was digging my nails into his skin.

The door opens and I'm met with my mother "sorry I took so long your father wouldn't let me answer the door." She says rolling her eyes.

I smile her eyes flicker to Elijah and she gave him a smile.

"Everything okay?" She asks, I nodded "uhm- can we come in." I say, my mother steps aside and lets us in.

Bambi runs towards us "where's Silas and Emilia?" I ask, "their with your uncle." She says walking towards the counter grabbing water.

Moments later we hear footsteps and I see my dad walk in "hey Evelyn." He says but his eyes glare at Elijah.

I look at Elijah and back at my dad confused I take another deep breath "there's something I want to tell you-" my mom cuts me off.

"Don't tell me your pregnant-" she says Elijah chokes on his water as I stare at my mother "I-what no. I wanted to say that Elijah and I are together- wait i didn't even say his name" I say.

They both stare at me "Elijah as in-" my father asks I nod before he finished the question.

My parents knew about how Elijah used to protect me as much as he could.

Elijah looks at me and I shrug, his eyes flicker to Bambi and he pats her head.

"è tranquillo" my dad says making me shrug (he's quiet.) "di solito è più loquace con me" I say making him nod (he's usually more talkative around me.)

"I guess Bambi likes you." I say towards Elijah making him nod "I guess I'm likable." He shrugs with a small grin.

I don't miss the looks that they both share, my father glares at Elijah as he does the same.

"You hurt her, and I'll hurt you got it." My father grits, "I never planned on laying a hand on her." Elijah responds dryly.

My mother shrugs at me as I force myself to not groan out of annoyance.

Elijah glared at Bambi when she barked at him "I already gave you attention you little shit." He says earning a glare from my mother.

"Hey- be nice to her she likes attention." My mother says, Elijah nods his head slowly before leaning towards me "is your mother always this happy?" He whispers I nod.

He nods his head, i turn towards them when a phone goes off "fuck. I have to go something happened." Alastair says before rushing out.

I frown a bit knowing the possibility "so how's everything going?" My mother asks grabbing some strawberries "nothing really" I say.

Elijah looks at me and I glare at him, I knew what he wanted me to tell her but I wasn't ready for her to know about me not drinking anymore.

I know she would be happy but I just wanted to talk for a bit before I had to leave for work.

After a while we left I had to get ready for work "why won't you just let me walk?" I ask, Elijah still won't let me walk to work I even said he could pick me up when my shift is over.

"I'm not risking you being watched Ev." He says making me frown.

"But it's nice out..and almost fall." I say I wouldn't be able to walk anymore once winter arrived "still not risking it, angel." He says making me frown again "I won't be able to walk when winter arrives" I say.
