Elijah and I were at my parents since we had to watch my siblings.

And Claire isn't allowed to watch them anymore, since she keeps trying to teach them how to throw knives.

Although we did bring Cheeto just incase somehow she gets stuck in cabinet again. Yes again. I still think Elijah locked her in it.

Bambi and Cheeto surprisingly like each other, although Cheeto keeps trying to stand on Bambi.

"How long are they gonna be out for?" Elijah asks, I shrug I knew Aliyah stayed at the office since Alastair had to go do something.

"Depends how long it takes." I say, Silas and Emilia were to young to hear about what Alastair did, plus if they knew it'd be even more dangerous.

I never realized how much I've missed living with my parents, doesn't mean I'll move back in but I feel like visiting more.

Emilia and Silas we're very attached to me when I started living here.

I don't think they understood what happened and still don't.

I'd rather not have them know about it, I smile seeing Emilia walking towards us "what's up Emmy?" I ask.

She crawls into my lap and I can sense she's tired or nervous.

She didn't really know Elijah so I can understand why she's a bit nervous to talk.

Elijah looks at me confused 'I think she's nervous' I mouthed making him nod

I could see the small smile he had on his face, and honestly that made me smile.

Emilia stares at me before whispering "is he mean?" I shake my head

"Elijah is very nice, but don't tell him I said that, okay?" I joke making her nod with a smile.

I look at Elijah and see him glaring at me "I am very nice, and I heard that, angel" he grumbled.

"That's not Evelyn's name." Emilia protests, "it's her nickname from me." Elijah says.

I grinned seeing them bicker "my nickname is way better." Emilia says, Elijah disagreed though.

"Evy is better, then angel" Emilia says making Elijah disagree again.

"I think you two shouldn't keep bickering" I say making them actually stop for once.

My phone goes off and I see the text making my eyes widened.

Mom: can you make sure Silas and Emilia aren't in the living room. Your father got shot in the shoulder.

I tap Elijah's shoulder showing him the text and he nods, luckily Silas and Emilia were tired so they went to their rooms and slept.

My eyes widened seeing the blood seeping through Alastair's shoulder "I'll be fine." He says going to the kitchen.

My mother nods her head assuring me "if you want you guys can home" she says making me nod slowly.

"Thank you for watching them." She says as I grab Cheeto

Elijah gave me a soft smile before walking out "you think he'll be okay?" I ask getting a nod.

"I'm sure he'll be fine, Ev" Elijah says softly opening my door. This time I don't complain because I'm holding Cheeto, who's chewing on my hair?

Even though he reassured me I was still nervous I knew Alastair would be okay since it was only his shoulder.

I grinned when Elijah let me play music, I wanted to mess with him so I played the Barbie theme song since he made fun of me for watching that show.
