Britt's pov.
I am in the living room, with James, watching Elmo's world. I'm sitting on the couch while he's laying on the ground, tummy first. I talked with Dylan a few minutes ago and he told me that Katherine had her stitches on and they were on they're way home. He told me that the doctor said that we had to take her back in two weeks to get the stitches off, and that it should stop hurting in about two days, but we still have to be very careful when we pick her up.
Since the hospital is ten minutes away, Dylan said he would be here in about twenty minutes because he had to go to the drug store to get Kate's antibiotics. It's been about exactly that, 20 minutes, but he still isn't back.
''Mommy, can you call aunt Vicky so that she can bring Byron over to play?'' asked James, standing up from the floor and walking over to me, climbing up to my lap and cuddling me. Aunt Vicky is Victoria Justice, she's, like, my best friend, and Byron is her six year old son.
''Oh baby, I'm sorry, aunt Vicky and Byron aren't in California right now.'' I said while stroking his hair. He looked at me with a puzzled a expression.
''And where is she then?'' he asked.
''She is in Puerto Rico, with Byron's dad and Byron, visiting family.'' I explained.
''But, hey, maybe next week okay, buddy?'' I asked. He smiled and nodded his head at me, turning and looking back at the tv.
''We're home!'' Dylan yelled as he came inside the house.
''Daddy!!'' exclaimed James, jumping out of my lap and running to the front door where his dad was.
''Hey buddy.'' I heard him say. I smile to myself and walk over to where they all are now walking to the backyard. I see Dylan holding both, James and Kate. She was sleeping soundly in his arms, while James was wide awake and a bit hyper.
''Hey.'' I say coming to view, Dylan looks up at me and smiles, giving me a kiss on the lips. James giggled and wiggled out of Dylan's arms, running to the playground. We sat down on a bench that we have, near the playground, watching James as he played. Dylan positioned Kate so that she was laying on his chest and her legs were wrapped around his hips.
''My baby.'' I said as I looked at the gash on her leg. It was fairly big, six stitches were taken.
''She cried so much, it broke my heart.'' he said.
''aww.'' I said brushing my thumb over the stitches. She stirred a bit before opening her eyes, they were bloodshot red and looked tired. She pulled her from his chest and looked around a bit, kind of confused, then placed her head back and closed her eyes, sighing.
''Why is she so tired?'' I asked Dylan.
''Oh, they gave her a shot for her to fall asleep, since she was moving too much and didn't the doctor do his job.'' he explained. I nodded my head and then looked back at where James was. He was running around the playground with a toy helicopter high in his hand, as if it was flying. His smile was so bright it could light up the whole world. I smiled and sat back on the bench, sighing.
