~Rustic~
A few days before...
Rustic sat near his friend, Wisp. The long hall that stretched far back wasn't lit very well. He knew it wouldn't it be too long until they were sent back there.
Rustic didn't like the halls that much. It's a little secret -- Er, not really -- that he doesn't like the dark.
  "Vine." Her majesty's voice echoed.
It snapped Rustic's thoughts away from that dark and scary tunnel-hole-thing. He blinked at Queen Edge. He was still a little confused about how she got to be queen.
  Wisp had told him...
Again, and again about this. It just flew out of his head. It was hard to remember silly things like that.
To Wisp it wasn't silly. It him it was.
The tension was high with Ji-ho's sickness. Edge was extra snappy these days. Probably because of Ji-ho. As much as Ji-ho was a good friend, Wisp was worried for her and Rustic's safety. --More for Rustic's than her own. She didn't know how she could live if he was gone.
"Vine." Edge boomed again. Her tone now hinted annoyance.
Even if it was only in her own thoughts, only referring 'her majesty' as her real name, Edge, was a way she could resist that so-called queen.
Vine was still a boy. He was still 17 years old; like Hidden. He had sharp features, olive skin tone, and short brown hair and eyes. From what they knew, his powers weren't the best.
Vines parents left him when he was 11 because they couldn't stand the scorn of having an almost powerless son. Vine then worked as a servant to Queen Edge to earn a living.
A couple more heartbeats passed. "Vine -- Are you even listening?" She now snapped. "Go get me the food that those damn chefs made."
Rustic gulped. Her majesty was pretty upset. She got up and slammed her fist on her throne.
"I miss the old Edge..." Rustic whispered in the softest tone he could manage to Wisp.
She nodded. "Me too, me too."
  "Uh, Vine?"
Wisp reached over and tapped his shoulder. She hoped his name was that. If it wasn't, that would be a little awkward.
Vine jumped back to reality. "Yes, your majesty." He went into the dark hallway to fetch her regular dinner.
" 'Roast rabbit, mushroom stew, one bottle of vodka, one salad with lettuce, tomatoes, dressing, cucumber, and avocado, an omelet, and a strawberry cake with chocolate sauce.' " The head cook said. Vine took the heavy platter of food back into the dining room where Edge waited.
  "Thanks." She grumbled.
