~Rustic~
"C'mon, Rustic!" Wisp grinned as she dragged him farther down into a valley.
He wasn't sure what they were doing. Whatever it was, it seemed fun. Wisp was grinning ear-to-ear. Of course this was going to be fun... Whatever they were doing.
Within minutes, she had brought him to a large open meadow full of larger-sized hills. Flowers bloomed so brightly here. The sunset cast a golden glaze on the two. It was just so perfect!
He wasn't so sure on why this particular area wasn't swampy, or full of lakes and such. It reminded him of home. Also of what Wisp had described to him of what the inner-boarders of Breeze Tribe was like. However, neither arrive shared a boarder. So, how was it this perfect?
  "Rustic?"
Wisp grabbed onto his shirt, and shook him. They were very close; only a few inches apart. Suddenly startled, he jumped back.
'Friends.' He reminded himself with a quick nod.
Wisp looked slightly confused, and then a tired look crossed her. She muttered something that included Edge. Edge-ie wedgie.
"Just some stupid rule." She muttered to herself, but it was loud enough for him to hear.
He remembered Edge being very fixated on how much affection they showed each other. Would hardly let them be Friends. For professional reasons. However, with Ken'ichi and... Mia, she encouraged it, and more than Friendship.
That was because she wanted to hurt Mia in the best ways that she could, because Mia was the only one, in the entire Droplet Tribe, who publicly showed her despise for that Queen. It hurt Edge's reputation. Of course she hated that.
The Queen wanted her true nature to be very closed-off to all other Tribes. If they knew, Queen Edge — Edge — wouldn't be in a very good position. Him, Wisp, Hidden, and the others would finally be free!
That freedom would come at an impossible cost, though. An impossible cost that Mia unknowingly was helping.
"Let's go," She yanked at his arm. "You're acting so un-Rustic right now, and it is freaking me out,"
"Oh, sorry," He mumbled quickly as he snapped himself out of his daze. Rustic tumbled after Wisp. It felt like they were kids again!
She brought him to a large hill. It had been such a long time since Rustic had seen Wisp smile so brightly. Her smile alone could light up a whole dark world.
  — He didn't mean that in any funky way. Only meant that she had a nice smile.
Rustic tapped her on the nose. "Boop!"
She began to laugh, and then, without a warning, turned him around and pushed him down the hill.
Rustic let out an evil laugh, and snatched onto her heel before the tall hill dragged him too far down. With a loud squeal, Wisp fell down with him. The two took turns trying to lightly shove the other farther down the hill.
In the end, Wisp won. He tumbled faster and faster. Laughed and giggles filled the air. Like the good times. As kids.
Freedom.
The soft, luscious grass disguised the hidden rocks at the bottom of the hill.
His head crashed onto a rather large rock once he reached the bottom.
He heard Wisp calling his name. Laughed and happiness still filled her tone.
However, he was trapped in a void.
  It went dark.
  Then,
It all came back.
Maybe it was only for a couple seconds, but that few seconds felt like an eternity. An eternity full of remembrance and truth to feelings hidden in the back of his mind, with no real explanation.
~*~
Fear.
Tears.
Home.
Fear had seized him as he laid on his bed. The door had promptly been slammed shut. The sound of it still echoed throughout the room.
He cried in a hushed tone, as to not bring them back. He cried so much that his eyes hurt. He cried so much that his vision was blurry.
He cried too much, that maybe it would end up doing something.
Stupid hopefully wishing.
Home was never going to be safe for him. After all, he was nothing more than something to have stress being taken out on. Never a mark to show for it, though. No one would believe one who didn't have solid, see-able proof to what was wrong.
  It didn't matter anyways.
Whenever he tried to recall what had happened, all he was left with was this funny little fuzz, and confusing emotions.
~*~ — Even this little blip of a memory was confusing enough to focus on. — ~*~
It would take a disaster or miracle to get him out of here. Maybe if he were a Mismatch. His Ability Testing was soon. Already, so many were Mismatches. Then he would be removed. Then he would be free, and gone. He wouldn't have to remember any of this, or ever have to talk about this.
Maybe...
Hopefully...

"Rustic," Wisp laughed as she helped him get up and rubbed his head.
  She added quickly, "You alright?"
  Was he?
Well, he didn't know.
Rustic tried to grasp onto the fleeting thoughts. However, his mind blocked him from being able to hold onto a single one. Soon enough, those explanations were just fuzz once again.
"Uh, mhm!" He said, but wasn't so sure he was too convincing.
He wasn't so convinced himself on what had just happened. That whole situation just left him feeling confused. Rustic's confusion must've been spreading, because Wisp looked confused as well.
"Uhm... okay," She tilted her head. "Maybe we should just do something, safer, back up the hill."
Rustic was only able to nod. He let her lead him back up the hill, to where they started to braid grasses and flowers to make crowns like they did as kids. He didn't want to ruin this for her with... Well, he wasn't really sure.
Probably not important.
Today— Really tonight —was going to be another great day, he just knew it!
