"baby is measuring at a little over five weeks, and seems to be growing healthily. i'll go print these pictures out for you, and the doctor will be right in." the ultrasound tech smiles at the pair as she cleans the ultrasound gel off of seulgi's belly.

"you doing okay?" hyunjin asks, placing a kiss on her forehead.

"i'm fine, i should be asking you if you're okay. you've never done this before." she giggles.

"i'll admit i'm a little nervous, but i'm definitely excited." he gives her a reassuring nod.

"i'm scared to tell daehyun." seulgi adds. "i mean, they'll be nearly ten years apart."

"do you think he'll be angry?"

"i don't think he can be angry." she laughs slightly. "i just don't know how he will adjust to it. he used to ask me for a sibling, but he stopped a few years ago..."

"i'm sure he'll be happy" hyunjin says, placing another kiss on her forehead, followed by a bunch of other small kisses all over her face, seulgi bursting into a fit of giggles at his sudden action. but a knock on the door cut the moment short.

"hello ms. gim, and boyfriend? i assume?" the doctor walks in. the pair nods. "well everything looks good, i'm just here to answer any questions the two of you may have." he says with a smile, sitting down, looking between the pair.

"well i've already had a-"

"um... what are the things she can't eat? and-and i read about genetic testing? she um... she doesn't talk to her parents and she-"

"hyunjin." seulgi grabs his hands. "breathe."

"never done this before?" the doctor questions hyunjin.

"is it that obvious?" he chuckles.

"nothing to be ashamed of, i can give you plenty of information. that's what i'm here for." the doctor reassures him. "but ms. gim, i'd like you to know that this will be very different from your last pregnancy." he adds.

"how so?" she questions.

"well, your body wasn't ready to have a baby when you were fifteen. you've been through a lot of changes since then, so everything you know from the past, prepare for it to be completely different this time." he explains. seulgi nods, understanding.

"so it will be easier?" she asks for clarification.

"it could be... or it could be harder. it all depends on how your body handles it."

"but she'll be okay, right?" hyunjin speaks up.

"everything looks good so far. as with every pregnancy, we will let you know if there's anything to worry about. but as of now, it looks like the start of a perfect pregnancy." he smiles, the pair nodding, both of them feeling a little more relaxed. "so here," he swings around in his chair, grabbing a few pamphlets from the counter. "a few things for you to read up on, and as long as everything goes well, we will see you back in two months." he hands the pamphlets to hyunjin who instantly starts flipping through them.

"thank you." seulgi smiles to the doctor.

"absolutely, please call us if you need anything." he says before exiting the room.

"you okay, hyunjin?" seulgi chuckles, rubbing his back as he quickly flicks through the pamphlets.

"i'm good." his voice shaking.

"hyunjin-"

"like i said i'm just nervous, i promise. but i'm fine." he speaks sternly, not wanting her to start thinking the worst just because he was nervous. this was his first baby after all.

"okay."

"i didn't know you were picking me up early." daehyun says as he climbs into the back seat of the car.

"put your seatbelt on, we're going home." seulgi tells him with a smile.

"why?" he questions, pulling the seatbelt over himself.

"we have some news for you." hyunjin buds in, watching seulgi lean towards the back seat to tug on his seatbelt.

"did something happen?" he questions, starting to sound worried.

"no, it's good news." seulgi tells him quickly. luckily the drive from the school wasn't far from seulgi's house. only seulgi wished it took a little but longer, because she was afraid to tell daehyun. even hyunjin felt a little bit nervous. but daehyun was excited, his mind running wild with the possibilities of the good news.

and before they knew it, they were pulling into the driveway. daehyun quickly hopping out of the car while the two adults moved at a slightly slower pace.

"go ahead and get changed and meet us in the living room." seulgi tells daehyun, ruffling his hair.

"okay!" he nods happily, skipping to his room to change.

"how are we gonna do this?" she asks, turning to hyunjin, her voice lowered.

"do we just... rip the bandaid off? tell him straight up?" hyunjin answers her with another question.

"maybe we could ask him how he feels about having a sibling?" she suggests.

"okay, that can work..." hyunjin nods, sitting down on the couch, seulgi sitting next to him.

"what do we do if he says he doesn't want-"

"i'm ready!" daehyun shouts, skipping over to sit on the floor, across from the two. seulgi takes a deep breath, hyunjin placing his hand on her thigh reassuringly.

"do you remember how you always used to ask me for a little sibling?" seulgi starts.

"yeah..." he nods.

"why did you stop asking?"

"it seemed like the question made you sad, and i don't like seeing you sad." he answers.

"do you... do you still want a little sibling?"

"yeah!" he smiles hopefully. the two adults felt as if a weight was lifted from their shoulders. they suddenly felt ridiculous for even being worried in the first place.

"well, we have one on the way." seulgi smiles warmly, placing her hand over her belly. daehyun smiles widely.

"really?" the two adults chuckle at his excitement.

"yes, we-" seulgi was cut off as daehyun shot up from his place on the floor, enveloping her into a strong hug.

"easy, buddy..." hyunjin says, slightly pulling him away from her so he didn't injure her belly.

"thank you, mom." daehyun says, smiling into her shoulder. she chuckles, wrapping her arms around the boy as she looks over to hyunjin. all three of them smiling like idiots.

their little family was growing, and they couldn't be happier.
