-Chapter 8: Light-
"And like the moon, we must go through phases of emptiness to feel full again."

"I wonder if you had to bring me back here?"
We parked in front of the apartment where he had tricked me with his texts a few weeks ago (the day I ruined his plan, of course).
Saeran muttered, keeping his eyes on his phone. "You didn't complain about eating the free ice cream, though."
"Hey!" i protested. "Everyone likes free ice cream, how many assistants make their bosses buy ice cream these days?"
"Assistants who are crazy like you." he muttered under his breath again. "If you mention it when we get back, I'll put your words right back in your mouth and i wouldn't even care if you choke."
The windows of the car were foggy, covered with black film, so we could see the people outside, they couldn't see us. It wasn't even clear we were in the car.
"Don't you need permission for that?" I muttered. "For black film wrapping. Isn't that something that's only allowed to officials?"
Saeran shrugged, as if this were normal. He was texting with the new victim, it was easy to know what he was typing because he had sent the same messages to me once. Now that day felt like a distant past. "Savior finds a way to everything somehow. Don't question it." he muttered.
It seemed like a very mysterious answer to me, but I still didn't push it. I was also relieved that my crying session about 10-15 minutes ago was not seen by anyone. Only by Saeran, and for a moment he had pulled down the walls he had built around him, but now he was back to usual, thanks to his ever-changing mood. He had gone back behind his walls.
"What exactly is in that apartment?" I muttered, resting my face on my elbows. He paused texting for a moment, turning to me and tilting her head to the side. "Guess." he muttered, as if asking me a puzzle, waiting for me to answer.
I thought for a while, staring at the apartment in front of me. "Hmm.. Do you knock people out and kidnap them inside?"
A mocking laugh escaped his throat. "Very funny, idiot."
I looked at him with curious eyes. "Seriously. What's inside? What's so important is fooling the poor girls-and why especially girls, I'm curious as well."
He hummed playfully while putting his phone aside for a moment. "How can I say...because it's easier to knock girls out than boys. And of course, you're more easily deceived, which i have the example right next to me."
"Bastard." i hissed under my breath while he is smirking. How I became attached to this guy in a few weeks, if only I could understand. "I get it, okay, I'm pretty bad at defending myself, never mind. Don't get distracted. What's inside of that apartment?" I insisted.
He opened his mouth for a full explanation when his phone vibrated again. We both looked at each other at the same time, Saeran grinned. "Yes, our lost lamb has arrived."
As I looked towards the apartment, I saw a brown-haired girl with long bangs wearing a cream-colored tunic with brown leggings. Her age was probably close to me. "This one looks hot, thank God." he hummed, still laughing as i slapped his arm. "Don't be spoiled. I could trade you for her at any time." he hissed solemnly.
"You can't~" I muttered as I watched her. "No one can be like me."
"Well, you're right about one thing. No one can be a bitchy little nuisance like you."
