"This was what you wanted to tell me all this time?" No. I'm trying to avoid that.
"Alright...If that's what you want, let's get...divorced." NO.
"I know it won't be easy but just wait two months. I'm planning to separate my subsidiary from Plantaille soon. Things are going to get chaotic both internally and externally. So, I don't want any weird rumours circulating around just yet. Everything will be concluded in two months at the latest. After that, you may do as you please." He sputtered out as he ran his hand through his already ruffled hair. "I won't hold you back." He said the exact same thing last time.
"I- filled that out a long time ago. To be honest, it may have crossed my mind back then. But not anymore." I admitted. He looked up still having a tight grip on the letter "Why so? Do you need more alimony?"
"It's not that!" I declined. I clenched my eyes having no idea what to do. Or what excuse to use. "A nightmare. I had a nightmare. And it made me realise how important you were to me." I snatched the letter from his grasp and crumbled it into a ball. "In any care, I'm not getting divorced. I just filled this out without even thinking."
Unexpectedly he burst out laughing "Without even thinking? So what you're saying is, you went through the trouble of printing out the form and then filled out each detail without even thinking?"
"Yes, that's right." I nodded. "You don't need to try so hard. I'll give you plenty of alimony. You can even request a division of assets. We can call a lawyer right now and sign a memorandum." he stood up right in front of me. "I will never demand any money from you. Not now, not ever." He closed the remaining gap between us barely leaving any breathing space "If it''s not money, then what is it? Are you really just sick of this marriage?" he grunted. "I said I don't want a divorce!" I yelled sick of his assumptions.
"Well, I do now. Let's get a divorce." he insisted, making me even more eager. "I said no!! I don't want to get divorced!"
"Tell me then. What made you change your mind, about the divorce you wished for desperately in the past?"
I need a reason. A reason that will convince him. It can't be anything materialistic. He's the kind of person who even wired me nine million dollars as a goodbye gift. He'll try to end this by giving me whatever I ask for. Something that's not materialistic. Something emotional, affection between two people. Something inconceivable!
"Because...I like your kisses!" I sputtered out, shocked by what I came up with myself. As silence filled the air, and I was dumbfounded. "T-they-re really nice! Your kisses-" he stared at me like I was some crazy woman. I don't blame him. His blank eyes looked at me. "What a joke. Does that even make any sense to you? You never liked them." he sighed.
"O-of course not. I'm just saying that they were nice. I just wish that they were a bit softer, that's all." Oh my days, I must be sick in the head. "W-what I'm saying is let's do our first kiss over again. Our relationship needs a reset. Since both you and I had prejudices against each other." His lips were pressed against each other, as his eyes dropped open, and there was no colour at all in his face. I kept wondering if it worked. I need to shake him up a little more.
"After we kiss, please say something nice." Yes Evelyn, keep blabbing on. "For instance, 'you look gorgeous when you kiss'."
You're saving someone's life right now. "Act a little shy for the first one." I said holding my face while twirling my head.
"Next, you can say 'sorry, you were just too breathtaking'. Like so." I kept muttering on as he looked at me blankly. "Anyways, I told you how you should go about it. So let's begin." I took a step towards him holding my face up high, and closing my eyes. I waited for a few seconds but got no touch in return. Why aren't you doing it when I gave you all the tips, Carden?!
