I caressed her face with my fingers, still whispering for her to wake up. Hoping she would wake up, as terror spread all across my face.

Just as I was about to call for an ambulance, she began to stir in my arms. My eyes immediately watched her face. She slowly opened her eyes and looked up at me with a confused expression. "Carden?" she asked groggily. "Carden-"

"I didn't get to drink beer." she said fighting back her tears. Relief washed over me, so did confusion. I let my grip on her loosen. "I really wanted to...but I was scared I would fall asleep."

Her face moved around in my embrace, as she kept yapping on about how she wanted to... drink beer?

I finally let my guard down. This girl- her face shot up just inches away from crashing into mine "How's your health today?!" Her body stiffened. "I've never been better." she fell lose again "That's good." she let out a relieved sigh.

I held her upper body closer to me, running a hand across my hair "Is that why you were lying down here like this? Just to ask me this?"

"That way, I'd get to see you. At least once a day." Her words may have been lighthearted, but they caused my heart to skip a beat. I couldn't help but blush as I watched her fix my collar with a smile on her face. The way she gazed at me with adoration in her eyes, it made me feel.

"Please let me check at least once a day."

"Check what?" I ask.

"Your health." she smiled. "You should take care of your own health." I replied. "I'm super healthy!" she insisted. A soft smirk spread across my face. "You're going to get sick. Go sleep in your room."

She snuggled around in my arms, before she lifted her upper self up and allowed herself to be at eye level. "I'll go..after I see you go in." she said as she dropped her face on my chest.

As I looked down at her sleeping face, I couldn't help but smile. She looked so peaceful and innocent. I gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face. I was amazed at how strange she started acting suddenly as if she became a different person. And all this time, I was upset because I thought she was using me.

If I can see her like this every day. "Evelyn Valiente." I lowered my face and whispered in her ear. "If I go to work before you get up tomorrow and come back home late again, are you going to fall asleep here waiting for me like this?" I asked. There was no reply in return just a simple gesture of her moving her head up and down with a small 'hmm' sound. I couldn't help but smile as I watched her sleep peacefully in my arms.

"Well, I can't leave you sleeping here in front of the door." I said lifting myself back on my two feet, her still in my arms. "So I'll take you to your room." I walked a few steps towards the bedroom before she raised her arms in front of my chest, halting me in my steps.

"Should we just sleep together?" My heart skipped a beat, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was flustered, unsure of how to respond. I kept taking steps towards the bedroom. She was still half unconscious.

I gently placed her on the right side of the bed, removing her hold of me around my neck. I stood on her side, lost in the question.

What the hell am I doing right now? I'll think about it after I take a shower. I turned away and walked towards the bathroom door.

I now stood on the other side of the bed, examening the bed. No matter how many times I think about it, it's okay to sleep on the same bed since we're married. As I stood near the bed, I couldn't help but feel my heart flutter with anticipation. This is not weird at all.
