"Jo, can you break up with me for 35 minutes?" Ella asked her boyfriend on the phone.
"What, no way. Why would you want me to do that?" Josiah responded flabbergasted.
"Please Jo, just for 35 minutes and after that we'll be back together like nothing happened", Ella said into her phone.
"Elle, are you okay? Do I need to call your mother?" Josiah asks the girl.
"No, everythings fine. I just need you to break up with me for 35 minutes", the girl says.
"Ella, I'm not doing that", Josiah says.
"Jo, I promise everythings okay. I just need you to do this for me", Ella says in a begging tone.
"Fine, I guess I'll be single for 35 minutes. But only 35 minutes", Josiah replied, giving in.
"Just 35 minutes. Okay bye", Ella said, trying her best to hide her excitement. Olivia Rodrigo had just released her new album with a bunch of break up songs and Ella was dying to listen to it. She was in a healthy relationship so she wanted to listen to it in full effect. She would have been fine if Josiah didn't give in, but he did, which makes everything better. The girl loved messing with him, she thought it was hilarious. On the other hand, Josiah did not think it was that funny, but he loved the girl so he didn't care as much.

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'RE SINGLE?"Elijah asked Josiah after he had told him what had happened.
"It's just for 35 minutes", Josiah said, not fully realizing what had happened.
"Does she not like you or something?" Elijah asked even more confused than Josiah.
"I mean, I don't think so. She would've broken up with me for good if she felt that way" Josiah responded.
"Maybe she wanted to date me for 35 minutes", Judah said in complete seriousness. The other two brothers began to laugh thinking Judah was joking. They both looked back at Judah to see that he was definitely not.
"Why are you guys laughing? I'm serious", Judah says, upset.
"Judah, that's not even an option", Elijah says, "Do you see the way Ella looks at him?"
Judah completely ignores his brother and says, "She definitely likes me". The other two boys roll their eyes and begin to ignore Judah. "Enough about me, let's talk about what you're gonna do since you're single", Judah says as he sits next to Josiah on the couch.
"YOU'RE SINGLE?" Micah asks as he walks into the living room.
"That was my exact reaction", Elijah says.
"Well, It's only for 35 minutes so I'm not too upset about it", Josiah says.
"That's actually kinda funny because Ava just broke up with me for 35 minutes. She would not tell me why no matter how many times I asked", Micah said also confused.

"You betrayed me and I know that you'll never feel sorry for the way I hurt", Ella sang at the top of her lungs. She was enjoying her 35 minutes so much that she forgot she wasn't the only one in her house. She was so excited and happy because she couldn't wait to hear how Josiah was reacting to her little stunt. She was sure he was upset, but she had a surprise to make up for it.

It had been 35 minutes and Josiah couldn't take it anymore. He had to find out why Ella had broken up with him.
*Texts between Josiah and Ella*
Josiah: It's been 35 minutes 😃
Ella: yes it has 👍
Josiah: So... are you gonna tell me why you broke up with me or...
Ella: I will but later 🤫
Josiah: C'mon Ella why not now?
Ella: Because, you have to find out on your own
Josiah: Ella, you know what you put me through for 35 minutes? Lots of impatient waiting - I hated it.
Ella: Okay, I know it was kinda cruel but I have a surprise and I promise it will make up for it.
Josiah: I hope you can keep your promises cause you're making lots of them
Ella: I know just trust me on this.
Josiah: I trust you. Now tell me 😀
Ella: Josiah 😂no

Josiah put his phone down and went to ask Shiloh for advice since she was a girl and she might know what is going on with Ella and Ava.
"Hey, Shiloh you're here?" Josiah asks as he knocks on Shiloh's door. Shiloh had been listening to music and was playing it so loud that it could be heard outside of her room.
"I'm so sick of myself. I'd rather be, rather be anyone, anyone else. My jealousy, jealousy", Shiloh sang, not hearing Josiah at all. Josiah didn't get a response so he opened the door to see Shiloh jumping around her room singing and dancing.
"Shiloh, SHILOH", he said, trying to grab the girl's attention. He grabbed her sleeve and the girl finally took out one of her airpods so she could hear what her brother had to say.
"WHAT'S UP JOSIAH '', Shiloh basically yelled since the music was still playing. Josiah rolled his eyes and walked over to Shiloh's computer and paused her music. "Hey, what did you do that for?" the girl asked her brother.
"This is important. You might want to sit down for this" Josiah said, warning his sister.
"Okay...", Shiloh said as she sat down on her bean bag chair in her room. Josiah explained what had happened and Shiloh immediately knew what was going on. She opened her computer again and showed Josiah the screen.
"Who's Olivia Rodrigo and what does she have to do with me and Ella?" Josiah asked, extremely confused.
Shiloh laughed and said, "How long is this album?"
"35 minutes. Why?"Josiah replied, not getting the hint.
"Oh my god Josiah. You're like a little kid. I need to spell everything out for you", Shiloh said laughing.
"C'mon, just tell me", Josiah said impatiently.
Shiloh made sure to talk slowly so that Josiah would understand, "Ella broke up with you so she could listen to an album with break up songs with full effect. The album is 35 minutes long which is the time she broke up with you".
Josiah gasped and ran out of the room saying, "MICAH, I KNOW WHY AVA AND ELLA BROKE UP WITH US".

That night, Ella had invited Josiah over so she could give him his surprise and Josiah was dying to know what it was. He had very high expectations considering what he had to go through today.
"So, what's my surprise?"Josiah asked, getting to the point rather quickly.
"Damn, someones impatient", Ella said as she laughed.
"You know me too well. Now what is it?"Josiah asked impatiently.
"Okay, okay, I'll go get it. I'll be right back", Ella said excitedly. Ella came back a couple minutes later with a target bag in her hand. Josiah had been begging to do this with Ella for forever and she had thought it was finally time to do it.
"Close your eyes", Ella said. Josiah covered his eyes with his hands but left a hole so that he could still see. "Josiah, It's a surprise remember", Ella said laughing at her boyfriend. He obeyed and closed his eyes for real. Ella hurried up because she didn't know how long Josiah would keep his eyes closed. "Okay, open your eyes", Ella said excitedly.
Josiah opened his eyes to see...
"FACEMASKS", He said, "OMG FINALLY". Ella laughed at his reaction. She was confused as to why he wanted to do this. Usually girlfriends have to beg their boyfriends to do "girl stuff". I guess Josiah was just different, but it's okay Ella was too.
