The end of summer vacation was approaching and Nanaba, Hange, and Levi were getting all packed up for college. Hange's mother agreed to help them move, they filled both Nanaba's truck and Levi's car with all the stuff they were taking to college. Hange's parents agreed to drive Nanaba's truck to the university and fly back while the three friends drove in Levi's car. They were excited about their little road trip since they lived in Washington and the university was in Northern California. They would be making an overnight stop since it was about a 17-hour trip. The first 12 hours included some pit stops and driving rotations between Levi and Nanaba. They took pictures at their pit stops and tried to buy some T-shirts from any gift shops nearby. They ate a good breakfast and settled for dinner at their overnight destination. Hange's parents were nice enough to buy the kids dinner as part of their goodbye. All the women shared one bedroom while Levi and Hange's father shared another.

"Good night boys, we'll see you in the morning." Hange's mom said.

"Good night Mrs. Zoe, thank you for dinner."

"Good night darling" Mr. Zoe responded.

As they settled into their rooms the women stayed up a little longer to talk about Hange's mom's college experience.

"Well, I joined a sorority. I was your typical college girl. Going to parties, drinking with my girlfriends, dating boys"

"Oh my gosh, Mom please stop! I don't want to hear about you and sleeping with guys-"

"I on the other hand don't mind Mrs. Zoe!" Nanaba interrupted.

"Oh, Hange relax, it wasn't that many boys. I met your father during my second year there and after that, he was the only man I was with."

Nanaba couldn't help but react. "Aww, that's so cute! See that's what I want. I want to meet my other half who I'm going to spend the rest of my life with here. In high school, boys are so immature. I want to find someone who wants to be in a long-term college relationship with me."

Hange just laughed, "I don't see myself doing that."

"Well, maybe that's because you're taking that man with you and you don't have to look." Her mother interjected.

Hange blushed and turned to her mother and Nanaba, "I don't know what you're talking about Mom. And I see you giggling over there Nana."

"Okay dear, if you want to pretend that boy has no interest in you, go ahead. But I say you're going to be married within 6 years."

"MOM PLEASE! It's not like that with Levi and me. We're just, best friends. We have been for the last 8 years. Would you say the same thing about Nana?"

"I mean if you don't marry Levi, for sure Nanaba."

"You know it babe" Nanaba jokes.

"But I have my money on Levi. I see the way he looks at you when he comes over for dinner. It traces back to that first day he came over after the park. He's had that look with love in his eyes since the first day he met you, I'm sure."

"Okay Mom, that's enough," Hange says as she continues to blush. "We should go to bed now. Big day tomorrow. Good night Mom, good night Nana."

"Night Hange" they both responded.

Meanwhile, in the boy's room, it was a similar interaction Between Levi and Mr. Zoe.

"You know I met Hange's mom in college."

"Really?"

"Yup, met her my senior year, she was a sophomore. She was one of those crazy college sorority girls. I was the lucky man she decided to settle down with."

"Wow. How did you know?"

"Know what?"

"How did you know you were in love with her?"

"Just a feeling I had the first time I laid eyes on her. I thought she was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I got the courage to go up to her and talk to her and we hit it off. I asked her out and she said yes. We went out a few times, and our love for each other grew, by the end of college I proposed to her, and she said yes. It was one of the happiest days of my life next to the day I married her, and the day Hans was born."

"Yeah, I'm sure that was an amazing day." Levi smiled just thinking about the brunette.

"You know, I've been meaning to thank you, Levi. You've been such an amazing friend to my little Hans. I was always afraid that her personality would scare people. I never wanted her to change the way she is. Her mother and I love her as she is and we are glad she found friends that love her as she is too."

"She's a wonderful young woman. My best friend. Just... overall, such a bright presence in my life."

"Do me a favor, Levi. Look after my little girl. I know Hans, no matter how difficult things get, I know she won't want to bring me or her mother into it. She's only 15, but in her mind, she's an adult starting college. I need to know you'll always be there for her."

"I will, I made a promise. No matter what I'm always going to be there for her."

"Thank you, son. You know I won't be surprised if you two come back as a couple during Christmas. I can tell she likes you."

Levi chuckled nervously "I doubt she sees me as anything other than her friend."

"Well it's college, anything can happen."
