Chapter 10

(Stellas POV)

how I saw at are door was shocking the last time I talked to my mom was when DCFS toke me from her care at 13 because of her addiction but she looks like a whole new prison. "Mom" I say not really knowing what to say. "Hi Stella" she says with a smile that I haven't seen since I was 6.

I stand in shock and pore Kelly is probably so confused right now. "I'm sorry I am problem intruding but I just wanted to see you and see the beautiful and strong women that you became." she says i wake closer and I just give her the biggest hug I take a step back and I ask a question that I don't know how to ask. "Mom, I don't know how to ask you this but are you clean." I ask her and she smiles at me "ya I have been clean for 8 years in January." she tells me, and I am so proud of her. "I'm really proud of you mom." I tell her.

 "Well, I'm sorry mom this is my husband, Kelly." I tell my mom "Nice to meet you, Kelly." she shakes his hand "nice to meet you to." we hear the elevator door and two little laughs "Mommy" both of the girl's squeal "hi my loves." I say squat down to give them hugs. "What am I chopped liver." Kelly says teasing the girls. "Thank you, guys, for watching them today." Kelly tells them "ya now problem lieutenant" Cruz says "well we should get going I hope you guys had fun." Chloe asks the girls. "Yes, we did" they both say. Cruz and Chloe leave. 

"Why don't we go inside." Kelly said, "that would be nice." my mom says we all go inside. "Mom, can I get you anything to drink water coffee tea?" I ask my mom "a water would be nice." she says. "So, what do you two do for work" she asks, "we are both work in the CFD I work on Truck 81 as their lutenist and Kelly works on squad 3 as their lutenist." I tell her "Wow that is really cool. I've missed so much of your life sweety and I'm so sorry." my mom tells me that and I didn't really know what to say, "mom your here now that's all that's mater." my mom looks at me with a small smile "ok well I want her it all the stuff I missed."

"Well... after I graduated high school, I wasn't sheer what I wanted to do so I started college to become a nurse and realized it was not for me... so I started bartending and meet... my Ex Husband we started dating and then I decided to go to the fire academy and become a firefighter I was 1 of 3 women in my class I graduated and me and grant got married we were married for 1 and a have years be for he started using... I was with him 3 mor years and some ware he became abusive I left him and got transfer to firehose 51 were I met Kelly we dated for 6 years, and we were in a building fire, and he purposed and then we got married and about 6 months ago we adopted Julia and Jalay, and we are pregnant with another set of twin girls." I tell my mom and she have tears in her eyes.  

"I'm so proud of you. "My mom says. "How old are the girls" she asks "they will be 6 next week." I tell her "Well whets been going on in your life mom." I ask her. 

" Well in 2017 I cheeked myself into a rehab Senter and I was in there 4 years and moved to Chicago and I've been working at a dinner, and I told myself when I was 7 years sobber I would contact DCFS office two see where you lived and apparently when you were 18 you made them proems to let me know wired you lived if I ever was asking and here we are." she says "I'm so incredibly proud of you mom" I tell her

"Mommy can I sit with you." Julia asks me I node knowing that she just wants to curdle before bed. "So, what's your name sweety." she asks Julia "my names Julia Severide." I look over at Kelly that one thru us of guard they have never used are last name before. I mean legally its hers to, but I guess we haven't really done the last name thing. my mom sated for about 3 hours today and she might come by the fire hose tomorrow.
