Chapter 22

(Stellas POV)

We have shifts today and I have a girls on fire session today at 2:30. We dropped the kids off and the babies turned 7 months old yesterday and Bentley is very much a mommy's boy and was really upset at the drop of today. I told Cindy that she could bring them by later if he's being really fussy.

I'm in my corters going over my drills for girls on fire when I hear a knock on my door and with the person I saw I thought was hallucinating "Gabriola Dawson, what on earth are you doing in Chicago!!!" I say getting up and going over and giving her a hug. "Well I had a meeting here and I couldn't come to town and not see some of my favorite people" she says and I giggle. "Those bugles look really good on you Lt.Kidd" she says "well thank you Mrs. Dawson" I say.

we sit at my desk "so what's new with you?" I ask her "well I got remarried. His name is Andrew and we adopted a little boy last year" she says showing my photos "your family is very beautiful Gabby" I tell her "Thank you, do you have any one special?" She asks me and I give her a smile "You don't you" she says "I do" I say "well does this someone have a name?" She asks and I nod " ya he does" I say and just on cue he walks through my door. "He's actually right behind you," I tell her.

She wipes her head around "Kelly Severide" she says shaking her head "Gabriela Dawson, what are you doing here" he asks with a smile on his face " I had a meeting in town and decided that I needed to come and see my favorite people." She said giving him a hug "I don't mean to interrupt but Stella Cindy texted me saying that she's going to bring the littles here bugs being really fussy but surprisingly Bes ok" he tells me "I pretty sure she's cutting a tooth" I tell him and he nodes

"Wait, you two actually married each other!" Gabby pretty much yells and I'm now giggling "KELLY SEVERIDE ACTUALLY GOT MARRIED!!!!" She says it really existed and was shocked "yep I just had to find the right girl and i did." He says with a smile kissing my temple "ok well now I need to know how he popped the question?" She asks "well you're not going to believe that." I tell her "what did he do in a burning building." She said and I looked at Kelly with a smirk "OMG he did didn't he" she said "ya he did" and that made her laugh.

"How long have you been married?" She asks "6 ½ years" I say pulling the wedding photo off my desk. "You look absolutely stunning Stella" she says "thankyou" I say "you two obviously have kids with the conversation earlier." She says and I grab the photo of the kids of my desk "that's my favorite photo of them" Kelly says " You have 4, what are you trying to beat the hearmans" she says "No, there two sets of twins, these two we adopted after there bio mom died in a apartment fire 1 year ago there names are Julia and Jalay and these two are 7 month old twins there biologically ares and I think i'll let Kelly tell you there names." I tell her "his names Bentley Wallace Severide, and her name is Leslie Elisibath but we call her Shay" He tells her "those are perfect names" she says a little emotional "ya they are" he says

"speaking of them there they are" i see them in the stroller coming this way with Cidney "oh come here baby's" i say picking both of them up and Shay immediately wanted to go to Kelly "oh you two have a mamas boy and a daddy's girl on your hands" Gabby says as Shay nessels her way in to Kelly's neck "that we do" Cindy herd that voice and pops her head into my quarters "I thought I recognized that voice" she said coming to give gabby a hug.

"Should we go share you with everyone else?" I ask and she nods watching Kelly we all wake to the common room and she whispers "he's really good with them" she says "ya ya he really is" I say smiling at him.

"I have a surprise for you all" I say "you're not pregnant again are you!?" Herman says "No Herman I am not" I say with an eye roll. "This is even better" I say and Gabby comes around the corner and everyone that knows her gets excited. "This is better than you being pregnant" Herman says and I just shake my head.

It's 2:00 now and I'm setting up my girls on fire drill for today. When gabby comes out to the apparatus floor "you and Kelly have such a beautiful family Stella." She says and it kinda catches me off guard "Thankyou" i tell her "I'm going to be sappy here for a second but I've seen you and Kelly through all the hard times and I remember sitting with shay and she was worried that Kelly was never going to settle down and I am fully convinced that she sent you to him at the perfect time and I remember trying to get a dent out of the ambo with a plunger with you and Brett and you looked us dead in the eyes and you said 'I'm never getting in a serious relationship again' and look at you have 4 wonderful kids and a husband that looks at you like your a drug and you have an amazing career and is making sure that females know that they can become firefighters" she says "oh Gabby Thankyou so much you are the best" I say "well I have to go but I'm coming to mollys later so hopefully see you there" she says "that you will" I say and we give each other a hug and she leaves.
