The fair Mr. Pines was hosting was a near knockoff. Even as I thought that, I heard a scream and a crash. I looked in horror at the ground. One of the sky tram cars had fallen off, with Dipper in it. I rushed over to him, using a small bit of my powers to get him out and to heal him with a hug.

"Alright, alright. I got a job for you three." He pulled out a clipboard from his jacket. "I printed up a bunch of fake safety inspection certificates. Go slap one on anything that looks like a lawsuit."

"Grunkle Stan, is that legal?" Mabel asked.

"When there's no cops around, anything's legal!" Mr. Pines tried to reason. "Soos, how's that dunk tank coming along?"

"Feeling better?" I asked Dipper, making sure nothing was literally broken.

"Your hugs always make me feel better," Dipper said casually.

Finally, noon hit. The megaphone rang out, making everyone cover their ears.

"Step right up and dunk me, folks. I'm talking to you, cutoffs. That's right! Muffin top! High pants! Who wants a piece of me?"

Meanwhile, Dipper and I were getting food. We had our hands interlocked.

"How do they get them into this shape? It's unnatural," Dipper pointed out.

"This town is unnatural," I reasoned. "Everything and anything could be possible here."

"Look at you two. Talking nerd stuff and being romantic at the fair," Mabel teased as she held two cotton candies.

"Are you just saying that, or do you want to hang out with me?" I asked.

Mabel handed me a cotton candy, then grabbed my arm. "Dipper, I'm stealing your girlfriend!"

As I ate my cotton candy, Mabel was able to win a pig. A force hit my head and knocked me to the ground. My vision went blurry for a second. When my vision cleared, Dipper was standing over me. His horrified face said everything as my head pounded.

"(Y/n), I am so sorry. Do you need ice? You need ice." Dipper ran off.

An ice bag covered by a cloth was placed on my head a moment later. Dipper kept ranting, so I covered his mouth with my hand. He looked at me in confusion, then held my hand in his.

"I'm fine," I assured him. "Probably just going to be a massive headache for a while."

"I know, but it's my fault," Dipper said.

"Come on, dude. Let's get you inside," Wendy said, picking me up and helping me into the Mystery Shack.

~~~
Dipper walked into the Mystery Shack, groaning. I was under a blanket on the couch. His hat was scuffed. My headache was going to go away in no time. He frowned. Dipper got a new ice pack from the freezer and held it up to my head to replace the melted pack. I smiled gratefully. He joined me a moment later.
"I can't redo the past," Dipper started, "but I would love to be in the future with you."
"Is that you trying to be flirty, or did something happen?" I said, setting a hand on his.
Dipper looked at the couch cushion. "Mabel and I found some sort of time machine. It looked like a tape measure. Every time, we went back so I could try not to get you hit in the head. I couldn't change it without her losing Waddles."
"It was sweet to let your sister get her best friend," I reasoned. "And these things can change the future. But not ours. This just proves to me that you're the best guy I could ever have."
Dipper smiled. He held out his arms to me. I laid my head on his shoulder, finally realizing the headache was almost gone. I put the ice pack on the table and relaxed. Dipper's arm wrapped around me. We sat there in silence.
Dipper fell asleep after a while, and I shifted our position. Dipper was then lying comfortably on my chest, and I was laying against a pillow positioned against the arm of the couch. The blanket was mostly covering him, but was able to cover me as well.
"I love you," Dipper mumbled in his sleep.
He was, in fact, dreaming about me. I smiled when I closed my eyes and joined him.
