The win

It was the final. All I had worked towards for weeks. Well, all my life. And now I was sitting backstage with Wille, waiting for my performance. Or well, he was laying under me on the sofa. He looked cute as ever. I had been told to not mess up my hair or make up, but I had kissed him anyways. They knew I could not resist him. Thankfully Wille had kept his hands out of my hair, so that Roxanne did not kill me before I had to get on stage. I mostly had make up for the cameras and some eye make up, so that would be fine even after some kisses. Or a make out session.

"You are so cute," I whispered in his ear. I had a hand on his chin and the other on his shoulder. He chuckled. I felt his chest vibrate against mine.

"And you my dear are smoking hot. I think you should wear eyeliner more often than you do," Wille replied. That made me grin.

"Maybe I should," I said before pressing my lips against his, maybe for the hundredth time that night. His lips were stable, yet soft against mine. I tasted some coffee and mint toothpaste in our kiss. He had coffee to be able to stay awake all night and I brushed my teeth before the performance. "God, I love you so much." We kept kissing and I felt his hands on my back. I wished he could have had his hands on my neck and face.

"And I love you," he replied. "You are going to do amazing out there later. You will win it all. I know it." That made me look at him with an even bigger grin.

"Am I know?" I asked. "How can you tell?"

"You are the most talented singer I know and the cutest one by far," he said.

"I think you might be a little biassed, sweetheart," I said. That made him laugh.

"That is my professional objective opinion, baby." he said. I laughed with him, until we connected our lips another time. I loved being where I was right that moment. In Wille's strong arms. Feeling the familiar, safe scent of his perfume invading my nose. We kept laying in each other's arms on the sofa, just staring into the other's eyes. My eyes wandered off to look at his perfectly shaped lips once in a while. "And you did apparently not get enough of my kisses." I shook my head.

"I can never get enough of your kisses," I replied and continued our make out session. Suddenly we were interrupted by Anton, the manager. He swept the curtain that divided the rooms for the singers backstage.

"You are supposed to go on stage in five minutes, Simon," he said, before even getting full sight into the little space. "Am I always going to find you like this? Snogging or talking to your boyfriend just before you are going on stage?" Wille and I looked at each other and grinned.

"Probably," I said. I got up from the comfortable sofa and Wille. He stayed there, with a sweet little smile on his lips.

"Good luck, darling," he said. "We will see each other when you have won." We smiled at each other. I did not take for granted that I would win, but apparently he did. I leaned back in and kissed him.

"See you, mi amor," I replied.

I sat next to Hector and Peter in the greenroom, looking at the scores. I was in the lead after half of the juries had voted. The gap between me and the artist who was second was quite big too. At every twelve points I felt my heart pound in my chest. A little bit closer to Eurovision. To an international stage. What would have been cooler than competing for Sweden in the world's biggest song contest? I had to get there.

"This will turn out great, okay?" Peter said to me. He and Hector gave each other reassured looks. It would be their win too if I won.

"Yeah. My gut feeling is good, Simon. It will be you who performs the winner's performance tonight," Hector agreed. I nodded and tried my best to breathe calmly. To not lose it completely, before I knew for sure.

"And the leader after the international jury's votes is Simon Eriksson with Butterflies," Farah said. It was totally unreal. I did not know if I was just dreaming, so I pinched myself to make sure I was actually awake. And I was. Wide awake. This was actually happening. I had a real chance of winning it all. We waited for the televotes to be counted, and my nerves were almost too much. How much I wanted this. How hard I had worked to do this, or well any music at all. This was a dream come through. When it was just the top two acts to receive points, they had me and my competitor for victory get up on stage. When they called me out as a winner I screamed of happiness. Cried. I had won. And I was going to compete in front of an international audience.
