When ivy got home that same evening, she went straight to talk to aunt lizzie in private. In truth, they had never been close enough, but it was time she knew what was going on in her private life.

Ivy was afraid of her reaction, she knew that tempers were flaring and that her cousin was very upset with her (although for no good reason), and although it could go extremely badly, Ivy knew that she should tell her aunt the truth and get out of that house for a while.

It seemed that the world was conspiring against her relationship with Taylor, and if before Ivy thought that Kate would be able to support her, now the only thing she could see was her cousin's jealousy.

"Auntie, can I talk to you in private?" Ivy asked and immediately saw her face become worried.

"Of course dear" she replied and led her niece to her room.

"I'm not sure where to start but... I hope you know that I'm very grateful to you for taking me in when I needed it the  most.... But I'm going to have to leave the house".

"But why?"

"Well, you've probably realized that I haven't been with you much because... I'm in a relationship with someone who is... very special to me and at the moment I don't feel that I'm being properly supported here at home and I want to go out to lighten the mood".

"What do you mean you don't feel supported? Honey, if you have... Well... Other preferences... We're open-minded, you should know that your cousin is bisexual".

"It's not that... I mean, yes, I'm with a girl, but she's different from the others and I don't think Kate is comfortable with our relationship..."

"I don't understand why you say she wouldn't be ok with it. And by the way, it's you who has to feel comfortable with the relationship, not her. Who's the girl? Can I meet her?"

"Not yet, I'm afraid."

"As long as you're happy and you're sure you want to move in with her, that's fine with me. You can come back to the house whenever you want, but I'd like you not to leave without talking to Kate first. I'm sure you can work things out by talking" .

"OK, I'll talk to her at dinner"

*Later at dinner table*

"Kate, I've made the decision to leave home for a while. I just don't want to leave knowing that you are upset with me".

"You're leaving? Of course! You're going to live with your perfect girlfriend. I'm not much good company anymore. I'm boring and ask too many questions".

"I never said that! I just asked you to respect the private details of my relationship and not to pressure me into doing things I don't want to do".

"Whatever"

"Don't be rude to your cousin Kate! That's not how I raised you!" - aunt lizzie intervened.

"Are you defending her now too, Mom? Did she ever tell you who she was seeing? Taylor Swift! She's nothing but a pedophile, look at the age difference between the two of them!"

"Is this true, ivy?" - aunt lizzie asked.

"Yes, it is. But it's nothing like that. She's never done me any harm, she's always respected me and age isn't something I'm confused about. What's really going on here is that Kate wants to be present at all my outings with Taylor and takes her friends with her. Taylor isn't out yet and Kate wants to force us to expose the relationship so that we can "all hang out".

"My friends? Do I need to remind you that we have the same group of friends? If it weren't for me, you'd have joined AMDA and you wouldn't have met anyone so far! You're so shy that you just stand in the corner of the room all the time! If I didn't drag you everywhere, you'd be out there all alone, you ungrateful sewer rat!!! Chloe liked you and you dumped her".

"I never liked her, I told her that and I never asked you to make any romantic arrangements for me! You said she was going to be there that day and that we all would hang out as friends, nothing more! And as a fool I belived you but all this time you were only trying to make me end up things with taylor ".

" at least if she saw you with another person and then broke up with you, it wouldn't be my fault. It would just be an unhappy coincidence and then you would have time for me" - Kate said provoking ivy.

"ENOUGH KATE! GIVE ME YOUR PHONE AND GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW!"

"I'M 18! YOU CAN'T GROUND ME ANYMORE AND YOU KNOW WHAT?? I CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR CHOSING TO BELIEVE THIS FUCKING DRAMATIC PIECE OF SHIT INSTEAD OF ME! YOUR OWN DAUGHTER!!"

" I CAN'T GROUND YOU UH? THEN GET THIS SHIT INSIDE YOUR HEAD. WHILE YOU LIVE UNDER MY ROOF YOU LISTEN TO MY RULES ARE WE CLEAR??"

Kate walked out of the house without saying a word.

" I'm sorry for putting you in this situation, I'll go talk to her and fix things"

"no sweetie don't, let her go and think about the wrong things she said to you. And btw i apologise for her. Now go get your girl".

"thanks aunty, will you be OK?"

"of course honey don't worry about me". And Kate, she will be fine, I promise, she just needs to learn to share people".
