Luna sat down as Whisper sighed. "Whatever you have to say, I won't tell anyone," Luna said. She looked around the library, and nobody seemed to be listening. "I promise. You can tell me what you need to."

Whisper stared straight into Luna's eyes. "I can do better than that. Watch."

Luna was suddenly whisked away to a cold, snowy mountain ridge. Whirling around, she spotted Whisper. "Where are we?" She asked. Whisper simply held a talon to her mouth and nodded towards a group of dragons walking up the slope. Due to the way their wings were moving, Luna realized it must be windy. And the wind was sharp against their wings.

It kept stinging into their sides, but the dragons ignored the pain. "Hurry along,  Discharge," the dragon in the front said. "Your mother the queen won't appreciate your being late."

The dragon he had been talking to was a small version of Whisper.

"It's so cold," Whisper-Discharge whispered.

We're almost there," the dragon said. But Discharge, too weak to move farther, collapsed into the snow. The world faded around her. She woke up in a warm bed, with a dragon like  she'd never seen before tending to her. He was a little bit larger than her, and had wings like butterflies. He looked up and was relieved to see her awake.

"Father!" He exclaimed. "The little bat princess is up!" A larger version of the dragon walked into the room.

"So she is. Hello, Discharge, your mother sent for us to tend to you until you get better. You almost died out there, you know. She also said something about you needing a new tutor or something." Discharge rolled her eyes. She was practically an adult now, she didn't need a tutor! But for the time being m, she just spent her time recovering.

She grew close to the young faerie dragon, who visited her sometimes, and she was saddened when he was required to return home. It didn't change things much, only meaning that they each snuck out at night. Until Discharge's furious mother found out, and the young faerie was forced to move into the Faerie Kingdom. Where no other tribe could enter. So that was how, heartbroken, Discharge had found herself listening to the whispers about a old witch who dealt in love and lives.

If her mother was furious when she found out he'd been seeing her daughter, she was absolutely livid when she discovered Discharge's faerie side. She sentenced her own daughter to a trial with an almost definite outcome of prison or death. She declared war on the faeries and managed to kill Discharge's love, his sister, father, and brother. So Discharge ran away. She stayed within the whispers and heard about a magical academy of asylum.

With no other choice, she took up a new name and went with the help of her new instructor. She got to the school, unpacked, and found a storage room. She crawled out onto the roof that night, and allowed herself to cry. Even the wind seemed to cry with her. She'd announce her arrival soon, she told herself. Luna opened her eyes in the empty library . They were wet.
