Fading Light

The sun was beginning to set in a generally eventful day. Silhouette had finished writing her story about the forest, Leafy was quiet for once, and Luna had passed a major test. Luna sighed as she entered the room they shared and closed the door behind her. Silhouette and Luna would be up soon. The party was still going on, but the trio were turning in early due to a small headache that Leafy had accumulated.

Luna changed into her other form and swiftly wrote a letter to her parents. She folded it up, blew in it, and sent it flying out the window. She stared after it for a moment before closing and locking the window. Luna crawled onto her bed and closed her eyes. She changed back to her wolf form and began going over different pieces of information in her head.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the window. Luna opened her eyes to see Silhouette outside. "Sil?" She asked. "What are y out doing out there?" Luna got up and unlocked the window, letting the cat into the room. Sil adjusted her hat and sat on her own bed.

"Faster," she explained. "I didn't expect the window to be locked. Where's Leafy?"

As if by summoning her, a knock suddenly sounded at the door. "Let me in, please," Leafy whispered through the door. "My brain hurts too much right now to use telekinesis." Luna glanced at the witch, and in a swift moment the door blew open. "Thanks," Leafy said. "I was having trouble getting it to work, and my mind hurts too much today. Pretty sunset."

Luna nodded her head in agreement. The three sat in silence as they watched the fading light dip below the horizon and the sky slowly darken. They only got up once the room was pitch black. That was also when they began to speak. "Good night," Luna said. But the cat and dragon were already asleep:
